Anyone wanna chime in? I'm thinking B4 the tourney starts...

1. Lee
2. Phillipi

8. Edina's: He might make every game interesting if he's not playing well

Lee is #1 hands down, he is undefeated and has ?17? shutouts in two years.

Philipi is average, real shakey when teams get in his way and get physical with him. If you want to beat Hill this is the way to do it.

1. Lee
1. Yumuskalar

Both playing great right now, but doing it in a totally different way. One on an unbelievable team seeing limited shots in many games the other seeing a lot of rubber getting out shot 2-1 many times throughout the season.

It sounded like Phillippi played well last night from what i heard, there just seems to be something about the X though, the last three years ive seen him play there he hasnt really lived up to the expectations to say the least. Hopefully he'll figure it out this year

Lee, Hakan, and Phillipi are the top 3 I would think. But Woodbury has a good goalie also he could play well for them and get them the win. BSM also has a great goalie I liked him against Tonka.

Once again, when it comes to Phillippi, the "bored" feel they know better than all the real hockey experts.

Definitely NOT a Hill fan here but Flip is a little better than average, he did win the Frank Brimsek award if I'm not mistaken.

While Danny Harper from Blaine may not be a big name goalie as of yet, last night he looked pretty solid. Great movement challenging shooters, and I honestly do not think he gave up more than a coupe rebounds all night. He was able to smother almost every shot which makes it nice for his defensemen not having to worry about several rebounds.

It will be interesting to see if he gets the start in the first game. He played a huge role in the game last night.

I will continue to say this. BSM's goalie is not great, he's not even good. He's been putting up great numbers against very good teams and I can't take that away from him but how he's doing it I don't know. He's slow and is out of position quite often.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're basing this A. on what happened at state last year, and B. on that first goal given up in the Burnsville game.

Rusty is a solid goalie, he's played outstanding this year, like in the Minnetonka game. He let up the soft one early in the Burnsville game, but he played pretty well after that.

1. Yumusaklar, Lakeville South....he's battle tested. Proved he can win games, and hold his team afloat when they are clearly overmatched.....has 3 consecutive shutouts going into state. And he's hot right now...scary situation for Hill Murray. Would be ridiculous how good his stats would be if he played for a team like Edina.

2. Lee, Roseau...does his job....has incredible stats this year...clear result of a great goalie on a great team.

3. Phillipi, Hill Murray...another goalie with great stats because of the team in front of him, and the lack of competition at times...plays well against the lesser opponents....struggles against teams of equal talent (see sta, roch cent)....still not sure how he won the brimsek. Plenty of Sr goalies out there better than him.

shouldn't even be a debate, Lee is the best goalie in high school hockey. i don't think he's lost a game in two years, enough said.

Give Lee and Roseau some real competition and we'll see what he does.

Yea, he really sucked shutting down Edina, Shattuck and Minnetonka. You obviously have no ability to judge talent. Stick with that blog of yours.

You gotta go with Lee or Yumaskler......

Phillipi can be solid but like stated before, he seems to have a temper and you can get inside his head by crashing the net and letting him know your there

Flip gets upset at times, but I wouldn't say he's rattled by people crashing the net. He's not afraid to get physical, in Moorhead he got a roughing penalty called on him for checking an opposing forward, and last night WBL was always crashing the net and only scored once. Flip has had some bad games, but more often stands on his head.

Now that's rich!!

Roseau destroys the same Moorhead team HM barely squeaks by the last game of the regular season. So who is this "real competition", and why didn't they bother to "give Lee and Roseau some real competition" last March?

You can rest assured that Roseau knows they have their work cut out next weekend. But it really comes off as childish envy to put down their current 41 game winning streak, given the the huge bulls-eye they've had on their backs for every game this year.

Lee is the man until somebody beats him. It’s every opponent’s super-bowl to try knock-off the undefeated and defending state champs. I think that ought to count for something.

Goalie checking a player?? That sounds like there might be something wrong with his head   Don't get me wrong, he can be a solid tender but he just doesn't seem to be all there at times. You can't have that come the time of perhaps the greatest high school tournament in the country

I haven't seen any mention of Aaron Baker of Cloquet, who is probably unknown to most of the state coming into the AA tourney. My impression of him is that he's very inconsistent. He steps up occasionally, such as in Cloquet's first two games against Duluth East and in the section playoffs against Elk River and Anoka. He's also had some pretty terrible experiences, including Blaine, Edina, Brainerd, and the playoff game against East in which he gave up 5 goals yet still managed to win. Which Aaron Baker shows up will likely determine whether Cloquet has a realistic shot of making any noise or not.

IMHO Lee is the best PROVEN goalie in the state. Roseaus schedule clouds the issue, but he's been talked about for years in Peewee's and Bantams. He's the real McCoy no doubt. Ask Edina!

But in a three game stretch? Who knows? I think Harpers the hottest....
