National Tournament coming to Rochester 12th-15th

Post by Orange and Black »

Just getting my plug in before the High School Season ends.

Just because your not playing NCAA Hockey after High school doesn't mean you have to stop playing hockey. Hundreds of schools across the nation have club teams in the "ACHA", American Collegiate Hockey Association.

March 12-15 the ACHA's DIII National Tournament will be coming to Rochester. The 16 remaining teams (121 teams total) from across the country will converge to prove themselves as the nations best.

Participating Teams (keep in mind this is only D3)

From the Atlantic
California University of Pennsylvania
Albany State NY
Farmingdale State NY
Fairfield University CT

From the South
Central Florida
Florida Gulf Coast (2nd Team)
Tennessee
Old Dominion VA

From the North
Hope College MI
Northwood MI
Saginaw Valley State MI
Calvin College MI

From the West
Northern Colorado
San Diego State
Northern Arizona
Dordt College IA

(only MN ACHA team in D3 is Mesabi Range CC & TC)

Local coordination for this event is provided by the Rochester Amateur Sports Commission, Rochester Park & Rec., Rochester Youth Hockey and other local supporters.
Go cry me a river.

Florida Gulf Coast also fields a team at the D2 level and they are excellent. UCF's team practices after my men's league games. Thanks for sharing, I'll look to see how they do.
Be kind. Rewind.

Unfortunately not much is expected out of your Florida teams this year.

Teams to watch

Northern Colorado
Cal U of PA
Hope

All 3 played in a tournament earlier this year Northern Colorado came out on top beating Cal 6-5 in Semi's and Hope 5-0 in the Final.
Go cry me a river.

Come on Pete, this is the high school forum - not the college forum. You should know better than this.

Wow wbmd, I've read two of your posts today and they are both sort of snippy. Were you the hall monitor back in grade school? You can be pleased that you got this moved to the College forum.

I think Orange and Black just wanted to show high school kids that there is still hockey after HS even if you weren't recruited by the U.
