Sports book with chapter on Warroad hockey

Post by ChrisK »

While working hard (honest!) I happened to come across a reference to a book titled "Sports guy: In search of Corkball, Warroad Hockey, Hooters Golf, Tiger Woods, and the Big, Big Game" by Charles Pierce.

The book is a collection of essays that Pierce has written on sports. I have not read it but based on the title one would assume that one of the essays is about Warroad hockey. Details are available in Amazon at: http://www.amazon.com/Sports-Guy-Corkba ... 565&sr=1-1

So if the fish aren't biting and you're between beers this might make for some good summer reading.

The beer in front of you is empty and either the bartender hasn't given you a new one or you haven't (or can't) get up to make the trip to the fridge.

Unless I missed something, I don't see the part where they call in recruits from all across the USA and run scared of the real teams come playoff time.

That jealousy thing really is ugly...so tell me this. When does Park Rapids play the "real teams"?

Schwanger- Warroad is preparing for the future, in a few years they will be at the lower levels of single A hockey.
