5 on 5 no check league?? This is a good league for players who want to skate more than maybe doing the captain practices at their respective high schools before tryouts start in November. Nothing wrong with this but this is not a scout attended league like the Elite League.

not about scouts

Anyone think it's not about scouts? I mean, is that what's it's down to for every one of these kids? Where are the scouts?

house

Post by jancze5 »

I took off of work to relax and they're building a house next door and wouldn't you know it that at 6:05 am the roof is going on today...

Yeah!!

No, but here, seriously, is it about the scouts? How many kids get the oppurtunity for elite league? There are other players who this league should attract who just need a place to get their legs under them and get some game play in leading up to tryouts. That's all I'm saying.

Jancze,
As you know many players have aspirations of moving on beyond HS hockey, and many parents also have those ideas for their kids as well, and many happen to troll these waters (to steal a phrase), so that's why you'll get a lot of that kind of response, because many think they all are in the same boat.
There is nothing wrong IMO with any league that provides an opportunity for players to play for whatever their reason.
5-5 no check is just one that helps develop some skills, but can also create bad habits, ie; how do you finish a check in a no check league, also players can tend to play the puck more then the body which is a bad habit defensively speaking.

The only people that should care about scouts being there are those that wish to play at the next level.
