2008-2009 North Suburban

Post by hshockeyfan91 »

Any ideas on the North Suburban conference this year? My predictions are:

1 Irondale
2 BSM
3 St Francis
4 Spring Lake Park
5 St Louis Park
6 Totino Grace
7 Chisago Lakes
8 Cooper

I think the conference will again boil down to Irondale and BSM. Last year BSM beat Irondale 3-0 and 7-1 but BSM lost a ton of their main offensive production to graduation, so it should be more even this year. However, they return three out of four of their starting defensemen, plus both Maddie Burgh and Amy Johnson who each made the NDP U16 festival for Section 6A/6AA. And they should be stronger in goal with Tianna Press who is playing really well in the Upper Midwest Elite League this fall. So defensively they should be even tougher to score against - the big question for BSM is offense, who will step up to replace the firepower that the graduated class provided. They need some players from a very good JV team to step up and contribute offensively to be successful this year.

Irondale obviously has great talent up front in McDonald and Lorrence but will they be enough to score against BSM? IMO that plus goaltending will determine who wins the North Suburban Conference title this year.

1. BSM- Need to beat the champs to be the champs.
2. Irondale- Plenty of offense.
3. St. Francis
4. Spring Lake Park
5. St.Louis Park
6. Chisago Lakes
7. Totino Grace
8. Cooper

BSM and Irondale are the clear favorites. Irondale needs to believe they can beat the Red Knights. BSM seems to constantly reload with talent. Will Irondale be able to run 3 lines against BSM?

Irondale and BSM should be the favorites. After that it should be wide open. St Francis has 1 great player but not much to go with her. Spring Lake Park might suprise.
Overall I think it will be a very fun conference to watch this winter.

According to the MSHSL website Chisago Lakes area will be in 7A conference this season. I thought that section assignments were not until next season?
