Most of those are excellent players. I haven't seen or don't recall seeing Hotchkin or Simon, so they may in fact be sleepers!

I guess I don't understand what the original poster meant by "sleepers" then. I'll admit I look at everything from a college prospect angle, and these guys fit into the "sleeper" category for me.Can't Never Tried wrote:Sleepers......... ya gotta be kidding me ??The Exiled One wrote:Schyler Adams - New Prague

I gotta agree with you Exiled. If you mentioned any of these names last year the response would be; WHO???The Exiled One wrote:I guess I don't understand what the original poster meant by "sleepers" then. Chaska - Alex Robb, good kid, smart player, brings his lunch pail every game. He hasn't met a corner he doesn't like. Nothing flashy but is the energy of the team.

Schmitz,Hess,Whiting, c'mon Neut last year?? .
I'm gonna guess your being sarcastic here, and EO I guess from a college prospect point of view.....maybe, but if youv'e been around this fall at all I wouldn't say any of these guys are sleepers.JMHO

Only "Sleepers" on the list as the rest have all been Advanced 17s and other such events.
This would be sleepers.

You might have a point on Whiting, but at this time last year Schmidtz was blasted on this bored for being selected to the elite league after playing jv as a soph. Can't Never Tried wrote: What ?

Hess plays with Pitlick and Lovick. He works VERY hard for any respect.

Well as I remember all to well... in sections Hess played pretty good ....other then the Blaine game, but that was a total disappointment way beyond just his play.Neutron 14 wrote:You might have a point on Whiting, but at this time last year Schmidtz was blasted on this bored for being selected to the elite league after playing jv as a soph. Can't Never Tried wrote: What ?

The Adams kid is quite player from what I've been able to see as well,
Rehkamp is also a good player brings a ton of hustle on every shift.
These guys just don't seem like what I would call sleepers at least at the MSHSL level.
I calls em like I sees em!

Adams, Hess, and Schmitz aren't considered to be among the top two of players returning from their respective teams, which is why I labeled them "sleepers". Bill Simon tore up the Elite League, which is why he's somebody to keep an eye on. I read some positive scouting reports on Mausolf, which is why I included him. Widing was buried behind Cecka, Kohls, Zepeda, and Furne. Likewise with Hotchkin being overshadowed by Johnson and Stafne. Again, I kinda see everything from a college perspective though. I suppose I could have left Rehkamp off, but even though they made it to the section finals, Breck seemed kind of quiet last year. Can't Never Tried wrote:Well as I remember all to well... in sections Hess played pretty good ....other then the Blaine game, but that was a total disappointment way beyond just his play.Neutron 14 wrote:You might have a point on Whiting, but at this time last year Schmidtz was blasted on this bored for being selected to the elite league after playing jv as a soph. Can't Never Tried wrote: What ?

Very good assessment, I'm going more on what I've seen then reports others are giving, and that may just be where we see it a bit different.
That's enough though or they won't be sleepers anymore.
