State tourney past and president

Post by Lex4prez »

Whenever a Democrat is first elected to serve four or more years, the election year defending state champs always end up with three or more championships spanning that same decade.

1945 Truman... Eveleth 1945 & 1948-51
1948 Truman first elected... Eveleth 1945 & 1948-51

1960 Kennedy elected but did not serve at least 4 years

1964 LBJ first elected... International Falls 1963/64-1965/66

1976 Carter elected... Grand Rapids 1974/75, 1975/76 & 1979/80

1992 Clinton first elected... Bloomington Jefferson 1991/92-1993/94

2008 Obama elected... Hill-Murray 2007/08-

So, if Kennedy had survived his first term, East would have won two more championships in the 60's? Image

Looks like there might have been a Duluth connection to Dallas. Any grassy knolls up there? However, I count 1960 as the end of a decade. When Dulutherans count to ten, do they start with "zero?" Where I come from, we are happy to start at #1 (and even happier finishing that way)!

Well, I am left-handed. But I do have a decent alibi. Seeing as Kennedy was assassinated 27 years before my birth, I'm not sure we can get all the evidence to fit together...
