Pathetic IRC

Post by greenway1969 »

The Range teams are showing poorly this year. No wins over decent teams and embarassing losses by Greenway, Hibbing, and Grand Rapids. There is plenty of time for improvement, but things look pretty grim now.

I Think its Pretty Early in the Season to Judge What Teams will do with them just Starting to get the Feeling of What its Like playing with the New Guys on the Squad, So i expect a Strong Finish...Should be an Entertaining triple Threat Battle Between Rapids, Virginia and Hibbing, But Teams Like I Falls and Greenway could possibly pose an Upset Threat.

Which one of hibbing's losses was an embarrasment. Its only 5 games into the season. Same goes with rapids.

Yeah, it's a bit early to be passing that kind of judgement. Give these teams a month to grow and watch how they do mid Jan. to early Feb.

It may be early in the season, and typically Hibbing gets stronger as the year progresses, but no quality wins is not very encouraging. Rapids has the best chance to be competitive, but the Single A teams have a lot of work to do. Hibbing has a chance to show something when Warroad comes to the Hibbing Memorial Arena on Friday. Also, why is it that Cloquet plays good hockey when they play East and Rapids, but hardly ever look good against Cities teams. Losing to Buffalo and South St. Paul makes me think that only the Duluth teams (East and Marshall and possibly Hermantown) have a chance to compete statewide.

We've been asking that on the east side of Duluth for a very long time...the rivalry is the only logical explanation, I guess. It's a testament to Esse and the city of Cloquet, which always rises to the occasion.

From the early results, I'd agree completely with your analysis of the northeast. GR is on the bubble and could maybe play well against some cities teams if they can show some improvement. But right now, the only real hope for the Section 7s is coming out of Duluth.
