With both teams playing well, who will win the first game between them this year?

I'm not exactly sold on Roseau's team this year, so I'll go with Moorhead 4-2

I agree. If Moorhead the ways they have been playing I can't see Roseau keeping up with them. I will say 3-1 MHD with goals by: Buckellew, Rahman, and Strand

Gunner you're out of line and incorrect.
1. My observations lead me to believe that 218 is one of the only current MHS students who posts here.
2. You can hardly accuse him of homerism in his post. Moorhead looked great last night against GR and Roseau still has some work to do if they're going to prove to be a top team again this year. I think 3-1 Spuds is a very reasonable prediction.

IF Moorhead is going to beat Roseau this year, now could be the time. Roseau may be missing a couple key players due to injury for this game? The Roseau team will become very solid as players return and they get some experience together during the prep season. That being said, Roseau 3 Moorhead 2 in a fast paced game.

I know 218 and he is not a member of the team, but he's close to the team,as am I. And of course we're partial to Moorhead.

Thanks doubleeagle and Knighttime. ANd TKO, are there injuries to Roseau, I haven't heard anything. Other than Oliver fighting an injury during the off season with the Force.

just throwing it out there that there are a lot of ppl "partial" to moorhead on here. and i agree, 3-1 moorhead is a very reasonable prediction as i think they are the stronger team.

Spuds and Rams

I am going to have to go with Moorhead because they have been playing well lately and apparently some injuries on the Roseau team.

Any updates on those injuries?

Moorhead-5 Roseau-2

Moorhead is faster this year, and in my opinion all around better, but still should be a good game

I've been impressed so far by Moorhead this year, I personally didn't think they'd be this good at this point. But with that said something tell me that Roseau will pull this one out in a tight contest

Moorhead shows why they are tops in section 8AA and why Roseau will struggle this year.

MyFOXHockey.com has added this game to their schedule and will have streaming video of tomorrow nights game. Always nice to see a Rams sweep of the Spuds. Varsity Girls vs. Spuds at 4:00 PM at Memorial and Boys vs. Spuds at 6:00 PM.

Stealth you make a good point. I just checked and Mooorhead has 68 penalty minutes to Roseau's 44, both in 4 games. Moorhead's power play has struggled so far this year, but they are pretty solid in terms of scoring both even strength and on the PK. What do the Rams' special teams look like?

KT11;
Info from most likely same web page?
Roseau has 3 power play goals (5 helpers) on 20 tries and 1 short hander.
Moorhead has zero goals in 29 tries. BUT have 3 short handers! So this must be there strategy for getting penalties? :-k

You do not want penalties against Thief River Falls! Nice job here with 10 goals out of 22 advantages!
