About Pinnacle Girls Hockey Showcase
The goal of Pinnacle Girls Hockey Showcase is to provide exposure for players in a top competitive environment.
Scouts from Division 1 and 3 colleges from across North America will be present.
Teams will be coached primarily by former Division 1/National Team Players.
Only the best players will be accepted, so the competitive levels will be exceptional. Questions

Applications will be accepted until March 14, 2009.
Background and experience will be reviewed and candidates notified on or before March 17, 2009.

Showcase Dates: April 9, 10 & 11, 2009 The Showcase starts the afternoon of Thursday, April 9th with completion by 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 11th. Teams
Six (6) teams will be formed by the Pinnacle Girls Hockey Showcase staff.
Scouts and coaches from college teams across North America will be present. Player profiles will be provided to all scouts.
Each player/team will have four games beginning Thursday afternoon. The weekend will wrap up with 40 players selected to participate in the All-Star game on Saturday afternoon.
Jerseys provided as part of the fee. Who is Eligible? Who will be Accepted?
Any 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grade players, along with exceptional 8th grade players. This includes graduating seniors who have already committed to a college next year. Tournament Fee
The cost for each player is $199.00. This does not include any lodging, meals or any other services. The $199.00 must be sent with the application. Check, money order, and credit cards will be accepted. Checks/credit cards will not be charged until a player has been accepted. Gate fee will be $10/day and $20/weekend. Location
The campus of Shattuck-St. Mary’s School (SSM) is located 45 minutes south of Minneapolis in Faribault, MN. SSM campus features two side-by-side arenas. Coaches

Last year over 30 college coaches and scouts attended. This year coach/scout attendance will be even higher as Pinnacle does not conflict with the Minnesota NDP Phase Tryouts.

The quality of hockey will be exceptional as only 6 teams will be formed.

Great pool of applicants this year from AAA teams in Manitoba, Wisconsin and Illinois, plus over 25% of the registrations coming from Minnesota. Due to 6 team limit, quite a number of applicants will be turned down. Will be a tremendous opportunity for the girls to showcase their talents.

This Event Starts this week. Iteresting looking at the attendees versus the Gopher State just completed - hard to evaluate how this will compare to that, to Phase II or upcoming Phase III play? I guess it will depend on the talent of the girls who are traveling a long ways (out of state or even CDN) to play. Many said the level of play was great last year even though there were few MN girls due to a conflict with Phase III date.

Here are the final rosters for the event. There are some very good players (SSM girls stand out and some of the MN HS girls - there is a very good girl from Boston Shamrocks and a goalie from Chicago who might be 6'3") and some very average players. I think SSM has done a great job with the event and have tried to balance talent. There are some young players who are likely 3rd line MN HS players - there are also some 2012 players who are outstanding - Kelly Donnor #11 on the Blue team is a 2012 but very very good. The only scout I saw all day was Krause from MSU - so that was a little disappointing versus information shared on the event - hopefully more tomorrow for those involved. The MN Crunch and the NSA were also there recruiting for their programs.

Orange 5 Blue 0 (this game was the 9:15 PM game it was stopped at half due to a problem with the Old Rink in the goal crease by the Zamboni door - hopefully this can be fixed and games finished - zamboni driver told coaches to cancel rest of the game and players were sent home even though there were just a bunch of Shattuck Boys playing pond hockey on the new rink and game could have been move - feel especially bad for the the goalies who didn't get to play there half. I am sure SSM will figure something out.)

For some girls it may be a great opportunity to show case talent - to Shattuck or other hockey schools - we will see.....I am wondering if because it falls over Easter weekend if many scouts/schools simply opted out.

Many of the MN U16 or U17 girls still in Phase III said they were skating to prep for next week. There were a few girls who are to old for U17 phase tryout so just there for some good competition.

Amazing to me talking to some of the parents from WA, or TX or MO or Alaska the extent of commitment, cost and travel - for some paying out the cost of Shattuck is a much easier and better way to have their daughters develop in the game. Talked to many parents how have daughters who can only play with the boys.

When you go to events like this you realize we have so many options in MN and especially in the metro that are both great hockey and very cheap compared to the rest of the country.

Thanks saw you talking to many parents and kids hopefully you are finding great future players to add to the MN Crunch - the post-grad requirement really limits your ability to help many of these girls looking for a better hockey option.

This is our second year here, my daughter commented that the quality of play is down a little bit from last year with the exception of the Shattuck Girls. I haven't seen as many college people as there was last year. Over all it's a pretty good chance for the girls to get noticed but I think the timing may be bad for some high quality players along with some coaches. Maybe they should look at putting it in June when more people have the chance to attend.

it is a tough time of the year for scheduling around conflicts. Some kids are playing on hockey teams beginning spring play, and many others participate in a sping HS sport and those games or meets have started and they cannot miss a track, softball, lacrosse, etc. meet or game for an off season sport. My player would have liked to apply to the pinnacle camp, but couldnt due to HS sport conflict. Moving the date may help, but there will never be a date that acommadates everyone.

All Star Game - This was the best hockey of the weekend and only Bemidji State was there to watch. Dark won 2-1 on goals by Curtiss and the winner by Kari Lundberg while Molly Doner scored the lone White goal.

This was a good experience and well run by SSM all around (great buffet food Breakfast $4.50 and Dinner $5.50 - no one went hungry!) so the hockey was worth the money. The D1 exposure or scouting was very low or maybe lower than expected - I saw BSU, SCSU, UW, UM, UND, RPI, MSU and maybe UMD - maybe others saw more?
