Being that WB flopped agianst Hill, do they stand a chance of beating Cent?

WBL v Centennial

Post by MedleyWR »

Sure the Bears have a chance, but they need to play better than they did against Hill. Better defense, better passing, fewer turnovers, no soft goals, and they need to do something they have struggled with all year - capilalize on scoring opportunities.

How come everytime the Bears lose people say they flopped or didnt play well. Maybe they were just overhyped to start the season and arent really that good. I mean honestly 2-1 against MV when MV was missing a couple of their best players. I dont think White Bear stands a chance in this game.

4-1 Centennial

not a chance.. the bears will have rough practices after what happened lastnight at aldrich and hopefully the coaches along with the captains will be able to pull the team together and stay out of the box, play good D, and put the puck away on offensive oppurtunities.

i wouldnt say that WBL flopped, they were outmatched by the best team in the state. hopefully WBL can improve on some things by the next game so it is a close one.

How is Centennial over rated? I guess you must think Duluth East is over rated too even though they just killed moorhead who if im no mistaken beat White Bear 6-3. Centennial tied DE. So are they really over rated or are you just saying that because they are playing your struggling Bears? :P

I think Centennial has too much firepower for the Bears.

Pitlick

Post by midwesthockeyscout »

Tyler Pitlick is too good a player to contain. In my reports, he is a superior talent than Kohl's or Zepeda, and will be a great addition at Minnesota State next year, as he will not have to require any USHL junior time. Pitlick will score 3 if WBL doesn't contain him. Not sure if I will be able to be at that game or one of the other locations, but I will get plenty of reports.

It's tough for me to stick with my Bears right now, and I think that Pitlick-Hess-Lovick line will be too much for the Bears young, much maligned defense. I'll take Centennial 4-3.

White Bear doesn't have any defensemen that could play in the USHL. White Bear people need to realize that the long run of great hockey players is coming to an end.

Cent should win this one by a score of 5 or 6 to 2. I didn' see the Hill game but knew that the outcome would be all hill. the Bears are to slow on D and not very explosive up front. There are reasons no WBL players were invited to the elite one league, They don't have anybody worthy of that level.

Something to think about

Post by guitarer1c »

I attended the Hill/WBL game -- and yes, I'm a WB fan -- but I have to point out that the score of the game was 2-1 when WB took a (totally legitimate) checking-from-behind five minute major penalty. Hill scored twice on that PP to make the score 4-1.

Self-inflicted? Certainly. Proof of Hill's dominance? Not necessarily. The game until that point had been pretty good, and, in my opinion, WB had done a good job of defending Hill's top players (especially Zepeda).

Just my two cents.

With only watching 2 WBL games all season, Im going to have to agree with the SCOUT. None of the WBL D-men should be playing in the USHL. Overly hyped on yearly expectations, and this year they just dont have it. Centennial is skilled up front, and even with Collette playing well, Im going with CENT-5 WBL-1

Centennial's first line is even better than Hill's first line. This team just has way too much firepower for WBL to handle. I'll go Centennial-6 WBL-2

I attended the Hill game. I felt a few mins before the 5 min major, that WBL was starting to slow. Hill was stretching the ice, and WBL's D was NO match for that! Its the first I have seen them play this year and found their D to be bery average at best. #26 Hoffman completely UNIMPRESSED me, took a couple very stupid penalty's and seemed very selfish with the puck, at one point going end to end, when he had a wide open center at the red center stripe! I thought WBL's underclassman were very good! And what happned to Walters? no sign of him! Also... just something I noticed.... WBL' 4th line played in the JV game and did absolutely nothing.... that doesnt bode well for the future of the bears. I think this program is on the downward slide!
