Gothberg has to be on top of his game. TRF plays Warroad much tougher at the Ralph, so I think it will be a tight one.

This should be a great game... TRF has the advantage of home ice but the nod still has to go to the warriors

Press Release

1/8/2009 - Schedule Change
Warroad vs. Thief River Falls game not on MnSportsNetwork.com

Steve Pesek, MSBN 10:45 AM

The Minnesota Sports Broadcast Network announces that it will not be broadcasting the Warroad Warriors versus Thief River Falls Prowlers Boys Hockey Game tonight, January 8th, 2009. A decision was made by Border Broadcasting of Warroad, MN to not broadcast the event themselves and the organization will be picking up a radio feed from KTRF Radio of Thief River Falls, MN to be presented on their radio network. KTRF provides their own LIVE audio-stream of Thief River Falls High School events on their website, www.trfradio.com/sports.html and to not conflict with the service of the broadcasting station, tonights game will not be available on www.MnSportsNetwork.com. If you are interested in listening to a broadcast of this game, please visit www.trfradio.com/sports.html. KTRF's pregame coverage is set to begin at 7:05 pm. The MSBN Full Schedule is available via it's website at www.MnSportsNetwork.com.

This game didnt mean a thing considering the whole section 8A Tourney is in Warroad this year. No home ice advantage to play for in this section. At least 8AA you have 2 home games to play for.

They were playing for last change, which is actually bigger than some people realize. Assuming TRF and Warroad go undefeated in the section the rest of the way, the next meeting may decide who gets the #1 seed. If they split, which I doubt, their Moorhead, Roseau, Denfeld, and Marshall games are big (common opponents). I think it's wrapped up myself, regardless. The next meeting is all about confidence building, for both teams. Warroad probably thinks they can beat TRF by 5 or 6, and TRF probably thinks they can beat Warroad, I don't think either is very likely.

I see Warroad winning the 2nd one too, probably about the same score maybe 4-1
