The falls are coming off a big win versus there rivalies the Fort Frances muskies and the Blue Devils coming off a 7-2 victory over Two Harbors.

The falls took first meeting 6-4 and the blue devils will want to tie the series up. This is a Key match for first place in the Iron Range Conference. They are both tied with 6 pts.

Another poor showing by the Broncos. The first period was owned by the Falls. The Blue Devils came out in force in the 2nd and 3rd but the Broncos didn't step it up. They quit checking and made to many errors. A really stupid penalty with 5 minutes left squashed any hope the Broncos had. Other high points outside the game, Matt Niskanen returned home to drop the first puck, always nice to see a Northlander whose made the show come back to where he came from. Also cudos to the Virginia Band for playing the Falls High School Song. A down side, the penalty clock didn't work. Give me a break this is a high school hockey game get the clock to work properly.

Wow! With a Hibbing loss last night the standings are pretty much neck and neck between Hibbing, Virginia and the Falls. I'm glad to see Virginia turned it up when they had to.
