Hermantown (15-1) @ St Cloud Cathedral (14-2-1) 1-27-09

This game will probably be the difference in the #1 and #2 seeds for section 5A. Denfeld could possibly sneak in ahead of Hermantown with a SCC win here (and a head to head win), but most likely not.

SCC 4 (EN)
Hermantown 2

I've seen both teams play and can't really give one team a significant edge. But its on a Monday night and Hermantown has to make the long trip which will bold well for SCC. However, this is for the #1 seed so I expect a great matchup. Can't wait to see this one!!

This game is tonight, Monday, 1-26, not Tuesday 1-27 as the title of the thread states.

With a #1 seed on the line I see both teams coming out hard and expect a very intense game.

Saint Cloud Cathedral 2, Hermantown 1

St. Cloud Municial Athletic Complex, St. Cloud -- A late rally fell short as Hermantown dropped an important section 5A seeding game to St. Cloud Cathedral 2-1. Alex Koopmieners scored the second - and eventual game-winner - and assisted on the first. Grant Huttel tallied with 4:49 remaining to cut the lead in half, but the Hawks couldn't net the equalizer. The Crusaders outshot Hermantown 33-16 in the contest, including 18-2 in the second period. Ben Tessier stopped 31 in goal in the losing effort. Nick Maiers stopped 15 to gain the win for St. Cloud.
