The Classic Lake is disbanding, but no other decisions have been made. There was an article in the Star Tribune and probably Pioneer Press, I think some of the schools sent their athletes a letter about the situation. I doubt it said anything that isn't already known.

I heard that Robbinsdale Armstrong had already been approved to join another conference -I think it was the NW Suburban- not next season (Classic Lake's final season) but the season after next.

Haven't heard where the other four will go. Who would want Edina in their conference?! Or Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Eden Prairie?

I'd like to see a new Classic Lake conference comprised of Eden Prairie, Edina, Wayzata, Minnetonka and then throw in Benilde and Holy Angels. I don't know about the other sports but this would be a GREAT hockey conference.

It's actually Edina, Tonka, Hopkins, and Wayzata the 4 that are looking. The StarTrib had an article that said Armstrong the fifth team has been accepted into the Northwest Suburban. All 4 teams have applied and been denied by the Lake for entry and Wayzata and Hopkins have applied and been denied for entry into the NW Suburban. The MSHSL requires that the teams apply for at least 2 conferences before eventually the state will place the teams into conferences. So that leaves Wayzata and Hopkins in the clear to wait if they so choose to do so while the other 2 must apply to one more conference still. That's as much as I know right now.

The Lake and Classicial Lake needs to be re organized to current levels.
