Northwest Suburban Conference - no respect
Why is it that the Northwest Suburban Conference is not considered the best conference? They have four state championships since 2000. The Lake Conference is always bragged up, but they have been a big flop at the state tournament. Not only haven't they won a state championship, they have not brought home any hardware. This year Blaine, Centennial, Maple Grove, Elk River, and even Champlin Park would probably match up favorably with the top five teams from the Lake Conference. The only conference that could match up with the Northwest Suburban is the Classic Lake.

As a fan of several teams in the NWSC, I'm going to have to disagree with you. I think that teams such as Blaine, Centennial, Elk River, MG, and CP are getting a LOT of respect in the State of Hockey and on these boards in particular. Just look at the rankings from posters such as Karl(east). Centennial, Blaine, Maple Grove, and Elk River are all in the top 20.
You also have to take into account that teams from the NWSC have only just recently had success, In the last decade..
Schools such as Edina, Roseau, Grand Rapids, Duluth East, Bloomington Jefferson, Hill Murray and Warroad have built winning traditions spread out over the last century.

I dont get your argument? the NWSC does get allot of respect. This year I think they might be the best conference, although I might pick classic lake over it.greenway1969 wrote:Why is it that the Northwest Suburban Conference is not considered the best conference? On a second note, you have to remember that state championships are not the key factor. Sections have hurt the strong lake teams.
My final point is that, in my opinion, the lake is a deeper and more consistant conference, usually. This year is a down year for the lake, and the lake is VERY shallow this year.
This year the NWSC is better, but traditionally the lake is much DEEPER. I cant think of the last time that the NWSC has been as deep as the lake.

Edina has just recently started being good againand the NWSC has the top three teams in the conference right now inthe same section and ELK River is in the section with east gr and cloquet who usually top teams in the state.minnesotaice wrote:As a fan of several teams in the NWSC, I'm going to have to disagree with you. You really are a mad man...
The NWSC has been the conference of the decade and they're once again proving why this year. I really don't see how you can debate that. Before 2000 is obviously a different story.
Some would call 4 in a row a dynasty
