American Collegiate Hockey Association

Post by NDSUhockey »

I don't know if anyone here is familiar with the ACHA. Well if you ever hear anyone talking about club hockey they are probably talking about the ACHA. It's a good league that gives players a chance to continue playing competitive hockey, while getting an education. There are 3 divisions just like in the NCAA. Some major differences from the NCAA are that no scholarships can be awarded in any division and that players have to pay a fee to join the team because the clubs are not fully funded by their schools. The fee is usually a reasonable amount. NDSU's fee this year was just over $500. There are plenty of teams in Minnesota and the surrounding states. In the M1 (like D-1) division NDSU has a team. In the M2 division there is the U of M, St. Thomas, Mankato, St. Cloud State, and St. Olaf.

If anyone has any questions about the ACHA feel free to post them and I will try to answer them.
