Unfortunately only Charter in Rochester purchased the rights

Post by Sioux Fan »

Dish is not able to show the broadcast as none of the local stations took the games from Channel45. Dish cannot show it. Good news is

Charter is carrying the games on Channel 14 here.

Problem is I have the dish.

I will have to log in on the B2 network but I have always made copies of the tournament opening games for years and years.

Now I will not be able to get that done. I will be forced to purchase from channel 45 if I decide to. I might depends on how our Eagles and Panthers do.

I got this email from Channel 45 this AM

Hi John,
Unfortunately, Charter Cable is the only outlet in Rochester to agree to carry the games. We have offered to all of the local stations. No station has agreed. So, Dish doesn't have a way to pick-up the broadcasts and put them on one of their channels .
So, your options are to watch on cable or pay for the webcast of the games.

Yea i saw that too! but sometimes direct tv does not show what is actually supposed to be listed on the local channels, and with it not being listed, i was wondering if the channel 3 and 6 are DTV or local ( charter ) only

I'm not sure about that. I would guess you'd be able to pick up the games if you get the Northland's Newscenter, but I'd shoot them an email just to be sure.

In the story he did about East and Virginia's seedings, Joe Duffek said the games would be on KBJR. Hopefully he means all the games and not just those affecting the local teams...I'd be surprised if the tournament wasn't carried as it always is up here in God's Country.

so confusing... i called them , told them i had directv, and asked if they were showing it.. They said yes but on dt 6.1 .. she asked if i had that i said no , just 3, and 6... then she said weill if you have 6 you will get it, so im not sure if she even knows about directv's programming ...

another thing is she said they were only showing the 11th ( wednesday ) through the 13th ( friday ) which would leave out the state championship games .. how stupid!!!! but then i checked the website and it showed the "A" championship being shown at 11 i believe but NOT the "AA" ...???? ugh why cant this be as simple as it was in the past ... every game thru the championship on 1 channel .. It WAS like a minnesota extended weekend, now its just a PITA

That is the new digital tv that is coming out. I have dishnetwork, the other satellite tv provider and i get all the 3.1 6.2...... etc channels but i think i have to pay. If you get channel 3, and 6 you will be fine.

Do you remember seeing once or twice some words scrolling across your screen that said somethine like: "On Feb. 19 your analog signal will go away and you will need a digital tuner or tv" ?? I know it was easy to miss because they only gave us like 2 years of the constant annoying message and every day in the paper. Anyway, I think it has something to do with that.

Buy a digital tv and some rabbit ears and watch the games.

No, having an analog shouldn't matter since they delayed the transfer over to digital until June.
