Well, last I heard he was doing radio play-by-play for the Gophers. I have no idea why he doesn't do the tournament anymore. Say what you want about Lou Nanne (and we all know, everybody has), but the Shaver-Nanne team was classic.

I'm glad he's not doing the tourney for TV anymore. I never could stand that little twirp and his fake Canadian accent. And he'll never be as good of an announcer as his dad was. Al Shaver is a legend.

I see your point, but he was the announcer when I was old enough to start paying attention to the tournament. I guess that's why I liked him.

Not many will be as good as Al Shaver was. In my opinion, they don't get much better.
