Suburban East Conference
(All returning counted players are from rosters according to MSHSL)

1. Woodbury- Returning 2 Goalies, 10 Forwards, 4 Defenseman. This is as if all 3 of the sophomores return. Juniors all return as East Ridge will open without a senior class. According to ROYALmoose25 on here only Volker will not return which would mean 9 Forwards returning. Ness in goalie and obviously a strong supporting cast make them the early favorite to repeat as conference champions here and for a section title no matter how they shake out on Wednesday.
2. White Bear Lake- Returning 0 Goalies, 9 Forwards, 3 Defenseman. Bringing back 2 strong goal scorers with Birkinbine and Wahlin. They will need Wolter to pick up some goal scoring slack and also the 3 Defenseman to step up and play like they have been there before because I’m not sure who the goalie will be but he will lack varsity experience early in the year.
3. Cretin-Derham Hall- Returning 2 Goalies, 8 Forwards, 3 Defenseman. Alt at the point is obviously they key player returning for them. They lose Walsh in net which that will hurt. Will be interesting to see if they go with 1 goalie or on rotation to start. Perron, Barbato, and Kinne will be the backbone offensively for them.
4. Stillwater- Returning 2 Goalies, 8 Forwards, 3 Defenseman. Top 3 point production forwards and 2 of top 3 defenders returning and also starting goalie makes this a dangerous team I think that can pull some upsets perhaps going through the season.
5. Mounds View- Returning 2 Goalies, 6 Forwards, 6 Defenseman. Starting goalie Culver returning he will help this team a lot. Bradley returns with his 34 points but after that next would be Anderson with 12. They will be looking for everyone to step up and be more productive this year but I think that Culver keeps them in some games.
6. Roseville- Returning 0 Goalies, 4 Forwards, 2 Defenseman. Graduated 14, I’m not sure what they have in the JV or Bantam program but I would guess they will not be the same team. They do however return Effinger who was tops on their team with 28 points last year. Also joining him in return are Debace and Jackson who had 18 and 8 points respectively. This will be somewhat of a re-building year for Roseville I believe.
7. Forest Lake- Returning 0 Goalies, 5 Forwards, 4 Defenseman. Lost a very solid goalie in Moberg, and a lot of their scoring from last year. Top two returners are Fick on Defense who had 22 points and then Suess at forward who had 11 points. I would look for this team to remain in the bottom half for next year.
8. Hastings- Returning 1 Goalie, 8 Forwards, 3 Defenseman. Nelson is the only returner who went over 10 points last year with 18 and that was the most of anyone on the team. Starting goalie graduated and even with a good number of returners I don’t think this team has the skill to play with the top teams.
9. Park- Returning 1 Goalie, 7 Forwards, 1 Defenseman. They had 1 sophomore forward not sure if he is returning or will be part of the East Ridge team next year. Kirby, the sophomore, was their best player at 23 points, 8 more than anyone else, 7 goals more than anyone. If he is an East Ridge kid they could be worse, if he stays I still think a lot like last season for them.
10. East Ridge- Last by default.

EDIT: Everything is based on as if everyone is staying for next year. Will edit if things change.

I am in no way an expert on this conference I saw a few of them play this year probably about half the conference. I think 2-4 are pretty close with Woodbury that favorite. 5-6 and 7-8 I also think are close with eachother. Someone who's an SEC buff let me know where I made my mistakes. Wbmd, I'm counting on you for this you seem to know your stuff with this conference.

Woodbury - Will be very tough JV was very good also. So far no one leaving only Gaede to worry about for that, Hyland staying.
WBL - JV was very average will be a tough year for the Bears, Wolters and Company won't be able to carry the load. Losing a lot of Size.
CDH - Goalies returning aren't very good will have 1 line
Stillwater - Will be real tough might even give Woodbury a run for the title JV beat Woodbury 2x's and only lost 3 games all year
MV - will have a nice line with Bradley but not much after that
Roseville - will be way down, 14 seniors tough to replace, JV was weak.
Forest Lake - will have Gaffney back in nets but not near Moberg, will have a nice 1st line
Hastings - way down after being a nusiance this year, played teams tough but losing size and goalie hurts
Park - lost too many players, only losing 1 JV kid to East Ridge, wouldn't say Kirby was the best player just the right spot the most. They will be better then this year.
East Ridge - No coach yet, no real home will be a painful start for a new school.

The big question is How will players adjust to new roles? Does player X have what it takes to be leader or did he need senior Y to do the dirty work for him. I think Woodbury will be fine in this as they lose 4 with only 1 being a factor, also Stillwater had Jrs playing major roles all year on PP and PK situations and getting to the finals also gave them a taste of the next step. Where as Nelson at Hastings will need some one to get him the puck which I don't see happening. CDH just has good athletes that seem to step it up every year.

Just for correction, Effinger for Roseville was a senior.

Woodbury finished their j.v season at 22-3-0 (lost twice to Stillwater and their last conference game to White Bear). It will depend a lot on how many sophomore's they lose to East Ridge.

Even though East Ridge is right next to Bielenberg Sports Center, their home ice will be Cottage Grove Arena.

As stated by another they will only be losing Cole Volkers to East Ridge, realistically they have a set roster already anyone new would be 4th line anyways.

Knew their home games are at CG but no Varsity locker rooms, taking thier stuff home every night, won't have the home ice feel. thats what I meant by no real home

joe schneider will start in goal for Cretin next year. He started on the JV team this year and did a solid job.

Wasn't Neil Horan (Jr) the backup this year? Wouldn't he be in line to start?
