Moorhead's First All-Female Goalie Camp

Post by MFAFGC »

Hello,

I am working on putting together Moorhead's First All-Female Goalie Camp. This camp is designed to be for all female goalies from the 8U programs to the varsity. The camp will be a three day Friday-Sunday camp. This camp will offer a very low player to coach ratio which will allow us to hone the skills of each individual goaltender. I am looking to gauge interest for the camp. It will be held in mid-late July.

My hope is that there will be different levels for the girls at different times.
8u and Varsity on the ice at the same time cannot be good.

I also hope that they really don't have 8 year olds playing goalie full time at that age, I think that 8 is too young to be only playing goalie.

but none the less Goalie camps for girls only is a great thing,

We are planning to separate the girls into two age groups. Essentially beginner thru first year 14U goalie and second year 14U goalie thru varsity.

All Girl's Goalie Camp Set:

July 24-26
Moorhead Youth Arena
5 1/2 hours of ice, 3 hours off-ice, film session
$100 per goalie

The camp is set up to really focus on fundamentals and practice approaches. We will have a staff to make sure that the goalies are working on THEIR style, not some set model. Of course, adjustments and the like may be suggested.

Our staff is:

Tim How-Camp Director 2007 Grand Rapids grad, now plays at NDSU
Jessica Havel-2009 Grand Rapids grad, 2009 Ms. Goalie Finalist
Betsy Miller-2009 Moorhead grad, led team to 2009 section final
One more staff member may be added, dependent upon numbers.

For registration forms or more information, send me a personal message.
