Twin Ports Prep Game Summaries

The Twin Ports Prep Summaries for the final half of the regular season games. Playoffs start on Tuesday Night at Mars Lakeview Arena. Free Admission for the Playoffs!!!


Perkins (11), Stauber Sports (0)
Led by Cody Christopherson's (Hermantown) hat trick and two assists, Perkins came ready to play in this one. Ryan Lundgren (Denfeld) chipped in with two goals and two assists and Seth Korpi (Eveleth) added two goals and an assist. The Cloquet goalie tandem of Kalvyn Pugh and Boyd Smith stopped all 17 shots they faced for a combined shutout.

A. G. O'Brien (9), Skyline Party & Game Zone (4)
A.G. O'Brien exploded for four third period goals to defeat Skyline 9-4. Andy Welinski (East) recorded the hat-trick for the victors. Phil Johnson (East) and Josh Wentz (Denfeld) each scored twice for A.G. O'Brien.
Zach Swanson (Pine City) had a goal and an assist for Skyline Party Zone.

Blackwoods (7) Hockeyhelper.com (3)
Blackwoods had a great third period scoring all four goals to win it 7-3. Andrew Michalski (Proctor) scored twice and added two helpers for the victors. Trevor Forland (Princeton) also scored twice for Blackwoods. Ryker Holm (Central) scored twice for hockeyhelper.com

Stewart's Sports (2), Subway (0)
A great game between two great teams. Stewart's scored the first goal in the second period as T.J. Belisle(St. Francis) blasted one in followed by a goal by Joey Benik (St. Francis) in the third period. Goalies Andy Benik (St. Francis) and Dylan Hudson (Ashland) combined for a 16 save shurout. Dom Deguiseppi was outstanding in defeat for Subway stopping 36 of 38 shots faced.

Stauber Sports (10), Subway (3)
Judd Peterson (Denfeld) records the hat trick to lead the way for Stauber. Collin Magnuson (Denfeld) had two goals and two assists for Stauber. Nick Marcella (Eveleth) was a helper machine recording four of them for the winners. Logan Talarico (Denfeld) had two assists for Subway.

Skyline Party Zone (7), Hockeyhelper.com (3)
Skyline Party Zone wins its first game of the seasom meaning all teams have at least one win this year. Brian Allen (Cloquet) and Hunter Bergerson (East) had an impressive two goal, one assist game for Skyline. Joe Rectenwald (Marshall) had a goal and two assists for Hockeyhelper.com

Blackwoods (7), Stewart's Sports (1)
Blackwoods Trevor Forland (Princeton) had a goal and four helpers to help give Blackwoods a 7-1 win over Stewarts Sports. Tyler Pionk (Proctor) scored twice for the victors.

Subway (4), Hockeyhelper.com (2)
In a back and forth game Subway prevailed 4-2 as Nolan Kirley (Hayward) scored the game winning goal late in the game. Joe Welle (Bemidji) had a great game for Subway with a goal and two assists. Goalkeeper Max Elstad (Marshall) was great for the victors stopping 32 of 34 picking up the win.

Skyline Party Zone (9), Stauber Sports (6)
The defenseman led the way in this one for Skyline as both Garrett Orhn (Greenway) and Derek Forbort (East-USA Under 18 Team) had two goals and three assists. Aaron Dusek (East) had a nice game as well for the
victors picking up two goals and an assist. Jordan Shockley (Marshall) had one of the most impressive games although in defeat for Stauber picking up both the hat trick and playmaker (3g, 3a).

A.G. O'Brien Plumming & Heating (11), Perkins (1)
Dave Grannis (Marshall), Hunter Panetti (Silver Bay), and ,Josh Wentz (Denfeld) each had two goals and an assist for the A.G. O'Brien to lead the way. Ben Carey (Eveleth) had a goal and two assists for the winners.

Blackwoods (10), Skyline Party & Game Zone (9)
In what is the highest scoring game in league history this game was possibly also the most exciting one played as well as it went right down to the wire. Two players recorded hat-tricks for yhe winners in the names of Tyler Pionk (Proctor) and Ian Robinson (Princeton). Picking up 4 assists
for the victors was Ben Wrazidlo (Central). Trevor Forbort (East-USA Under 18 Team) had another great game for Skyline with a hat-trick and two assists. Tom Rossiter (Proctor) had two goals and two assists for Skyline.

Subway(5), Perkins (1)
Garret Skrbich (Hermantown) scored two outstanding goals for Subway to lead the squad to a 5-1 victory over Perkins. Dom Deguiseppi (Grand Rapids) was outstanding in the nets for the victors stopping 20 of 21 shots.

Stewart's Sports (7), Stauber Sports (2)
Lane Noyes (North Branch) had a great game for Stewart's recording the hat-trick and picking up an assist. Randy Bauer (Proctor) picked up two goals and an assist for the winners. Peterson (Denfeld) had a nice gam in a losing cause for Stabuer with a goal and an assist.

A.G. O'Brien Plumming & Heating (11), Hockeyhelper.com (1)
Mark Williams (Marshall) was a helper machine for as he picked up five and added a goal as well in the win. Both Jake Randolph (East) and Josh Wentz (Denfeld) had two goals and three assists. Also having a good game for A.G. O'Brien was Dave Grannis (Marshall) with two goals and two assists.

A.G. O'Brien Plumming & Heating 8- Blackwoods 3

A.G. O'Brien ends up being the only team in the league to defeat Blackwoods and also ends up being the highest scoring teamin the regular season. Philip Johnson (East) scores two and adds an assists to lead the way. Josh Wentz (Denfeld) and Mark Williams (Marshall) each add two goals for the victors. Having a good game for Blackwoods was Ian Robertson (Princeton) with two goals .

Stewart's Sports 8- Perkins 7
Stewart's wins this high scoring affair 8-7 over Perkins. Joey Benik (St. Francis) records the hat-trick for the victors. A. J. Merritt (Grand Rapids) added a goal and two assists. Cody Christopherson (Hermantown) had a great game in a losing cause recording the hat-trick. Jarrett Sachs (North Branch) had two goals for Perkins.

Blackwoods wins first place tie-breaker as they defeated Stewart’s in the regular season. Perkins wins the fifth place tie-breaker as they defeated Skyline in the regular season.
