Any scoop on the clasic lake?

Have not seen any updates but was thinking that schedules for fall sports must be getting done sometime soon. Anyone heard anything lately; news, rumors...

This should make for an interesting year with all 4 teams looking to be decent could really change a few conferences.

The new schedules look to be in place at classiclake.org.

Don't click on the school icon from the home page. INstead, click on member schools, then click on the school you're looking for to get to the various schedules.

Per the Star Trib all 4 remaining teams will go to the Lake Conference for 2010-2011 seasons. I would think they will need to split the lake into two divisions and have East/West or North/South. Will probably create Bloomington, EP, Edina, Hopkins, Wayzata, Minnetonka, and Chaska/Chanhassen(if they stay) regular season mach ups.

Why did the Classic Lake Conference teams vote to eject Armstrong from the Conference originally? Doing so automatically disolved their Conference because you cannot have a Conference with less than five teams. It seems to me that they have brought their relocation problems on themselves.

I believe that was the idea... They ejected Armstrong to force an end to their situation.

I think it would be easy to find a conference if your a less competitive team. When the road to state is through sections why would you not want to play in a conference with the strongest teams (not girls hockey but in general)

To be clear, Armstrong was complicit with this decesion. The bottom line is that it is difficult for AHS to compete in this conference in most sports. Armstrong is in a huge transition phase and has far fewer student athletes than their CLC foes and is projected to be 15 to 40 percent smaller in overall enrollment in coming years. That said, they were readily accpeted in the NW Suburban conference and my guess is that they will struggle to compete there too, but not like they did against the powerhouses 'left' from the CLC. But since this is a hockey site, AHS has a pretty good nucleus coming back for this year, but will be young in goal.

What a mess! I just hope the decision makers are making decisions based on what's best for the kids and the school system. I think its logical to set up conferences based on geographical location and size but I frankly don't know all of the arguments against such an arrangement.

I still think the primary function of conferences is to ensure ease of scheduling for the majority of games/events. Also, nice to have competitive and like-sized schools involved that are located close geographically. Conferences consider all sports but I'm sure Football and other sports seem to get equal and likely greater consideration than G Hockey...
