Zach LaValle for HM. He saw some varsity playing time last year. Quite a jump going from playing peewees one yr to skating varsity for the Pioneers the next. Great kid who has a bright future for Hill.

Besse had been attending Breck school for awhile and wanted to play Class AA instead of Class A. He did play for the Wayzata Bantam A team last year. From what I hear he was a good player for them.

You are correct in that Besse played on the Wayzata Bantam A championship team last year.

He was a Breck kid however his older brother also attended BSM from my understanding and yes it was an A vs AA scenario from my conversations with a family member but not sure on the exact details only bits and pieces.

Personal choice I guess on his behalf. A vs AA but if you are as good as he may be he will get looks no matter what level. Good luck to him as he progresses thru his high school career.

A poster on the youth board says Hudson Fasching will be a freshman for Apple Valley, Willie Raskob will be a freshman (I assume) for Holy Angels, and Michael Brodzinski will be a freshman for Blaine. These kids were all top players with Suggerud's program.

Freshman do not have much of an impact at varsity AA level (and some of the single A teams also) unless of course your club is scheduling the little sisters of the poor teams to rack up some numbers. For the most part those freshman kids can play a role on a team that schedules good to top end competition.

You must not have followed last season....PLENTY of impact 9th graders last yr..not just role players.

Boyd is the only exception along with Michealson from apple valley who put up some nice numbers too against some bona fide top end teams.
4 points against Kennedy or 6 points against Greenway (2 former great programs) are thrown out of the evaluation. When you can pad you numbers against teams like Cooper, Kennedy, Meadow Creek Christian, St. Francis and Chisago Lakes they kind of become an apples and oranges comparison. Oh yes stats out of the Missota are completel thrown out too

I respectfully disagree. Austyn Young was arguably one of the best two forwards for South Saint Paul, who's schedule strength was in the top third. The same goes for Christian Horn of Benilde, who led his team in goals. Mike Reilly had 14 more points than any other Holy Angels defenseman. Nate Arentz and Brady Skjei were quite valuable to Lakeville North as well.

At least 10 forwards and 10 def that can be considered impact players. Northwoods is way off on this one.

Look at the Reily kid 16 of his so called 26 pts were vs really bad teams the AHA out scored by 10 per game. Just look at the Playoffs last year 12 -2 vs Bloom Kennedy and 4-1 loss vs Edina. I would hardly consider that an IMPACT PLAYER! He was invisible in the game I watched.

Not to mention the "Phantom Assist" you know the ones the ref hands out fto the biggest cheerleader in the crowd.

I give you boys props on some talent in the state for 1993 birth year but you boys are all wet if you think that putting the biscuit in the basket against the Holy Family is equivlent to potting one against the likes of Ford over at Eden Prairie or Larsen down at Centennial.
Not to mention a lot em 'tap out' (level off) as Seniors. There is a down side to moving up to fast too early should be a lesson to 'the don' over in Gopherland. Recall a kid by the name of Spehar. Helluva high schooler and just did not get any better, it does occur.

First of all, many freshmen do make an impact on their class "AA" teams. Second, why does everyone think that "making an impact" means scoring tons of points? Making an impact could mean; a freshman working hard during practices and games therefore pushing the older boys to do the same, or even going out there and getting pucks out of the zone, making plays in the corners and, for goalies, keeping pucks out of the net.

He was a Advance 15 player for Distict 10 which I heard took 2nd. I talked with a friend who runs the Twin Ports Prep league. I guess he scored 5 goals and had 3 assists against alot of seniors. I had heard that he went out to portland for the WHL prospects camp which was only 2 days they told him to stay for the week and said they want him back next year. Ummm, if Zack stayed in Portland for more than two days he may have potentially jeopardized his NCAA eligibility. I'm pretty sure there's a 48 hour rule in regards to "professional" tryout camps. Does he not care to play college hockey?
