Prior Lake, Exceed Hockey, MN Magicians, & Joe Pankratz
Joe Pankratz is the new head coach for Prior Lake High School. Last year he was the Peewee A coach for PL. He also heads up Exceed hockey and the Mn Magicians. Joe Is also the head of the Hockey Development Committee for Prior Lake Youth Hockey.
Prior Lake has a growing program and it looks like Joe is running it all. Is this good or bad?

Sometimes the best way to get a program heading a certain direction is to have one person at the helm. To often you see programs that have board members, H.S. coaches, strong parents and youth coaches combating each other to see who can influence the program's direction. Usually they end up going no where. From what I have heard Joe is a positive influence on the players and has good hockey knowledge which is never a bad thing. The other benefit of having one person running things is that if it fails (or succeeds) you know where to place the responsibility and can make changes as needed.Checkerboard wrote:Prior Lake has a growing program and it looks like Joe is running it all. My son played off season hockey for Joe and I agree 100%. I only think this will work with the correct person at the helm. Joe's head and heart is in the right place for developing ALL the kids. My son was one of the "bubble kids" that only got better with Joes encouragement and his own hard work. Impressive coach and person!nickel slots wrote:Good... VERY GOOD!
Joe is dedicated and knowledgeable. While it may seem that he has a stranglehold on the PL/Savage association, I don't see that as a bad thing.... many of us would love to have somebody like Joe running our local associations.
Thanks Joe and good luck!
Where did Joe grow up and play? What are his credentials?zyzxx wrote:My son played off season hockey for Joe and I agree 100%. I only think this will work with the correct person at the helm.
Looks like he played 18 games for the gophers during the 1994-1995 season. Before that he played in the USHL for two years and after he played for the Seattle Thunderbirds. He had 5 points in 18 games for the gophers.
He is a good person.
He is giving his gift of teaching and development back to the kids in Minnesota.
He wants to make a living teaching kids how to play hockey, and the benefits of hard work and team sports.
As a player he achieved more then 75% of the MR Hockey award winners. He has achieved more as player then 99% of the people on this board.
And you have nothing on NIP/TUCK so quite while your shameful.
