If you were going to put Bemidji up there that high, you might as well put them at 1.

Roseau has the 'intangible factor' that always gives them the edge.
Moorhead will be good but has had trouble with Bemidji with these 10 - 12 graders.

Brainerd is still under new leadership and weak in numbers but will be more competitive since the big D was there.

Buffalo will be good.

Tech - who knows.

Bemidji has a senior class that will be competitive, a junior class with a lot of talent and the best sophmore class since DeMarchi was there.

I would like to think Bemdiji would finish number 1 (and I will be cheering for that) but pre-tryout I have to go with Roseau.

They had no seniors to speak of...
Warroad was very strong with seniors....
TRF's goalie was good....
Bemidji was third after two good teams...

Where was Roseau, Moorhead in comparion to Warroad and TRF last year?

Brainerd’s goalie, Reid M (sp) I feel is extremely solid and can change the outcome of any game.

He should be playing in the Elite one, far superior to the two they have on team north. Those two are struggling.

Did see saw an article about Reid being the football quarterback. Nice piece.

Will have to work on my guess now.

Isn’t great to see another season coming! E70 gave the board some life!

Brainerd's varsity will be mostly Seniors, with the exception of 4-5 players. They have a very strong Senior group who was rated in the top 10 as Bantams. Most of the Seniors played varsity under Archibald and have spent time playing together in the offseason. I wouldn't count them out and I certainly wouldn't put them behind Tech and Buffalo.

Well, thanks for the advice, but I'll put them behind Tech, just the same. Tech has a very talented junior class -- one that ranked in the top five as bantams in their final year. Tech will be young, and their chances at success may be even better next year, but they will be a lot to handle for any team in the section. They may not win the section, but there won't be one team, including Moorhead or Roseau that will have an easy time with them.

I don't think they are overlooked, but depth will continue to be an issue. In the section, you have to be able to go deeper than two lines. MAML will have a strong line, who better be able to go for 20 minutes plus.

I'll second that , i dont think a new coming team has ever done well in there first year in the mighty AA, and on top of it 8AA. You might wanna edit your post there or hit the books a little on section 8 hockey.

Bemidji youth teams always play Roseau, Moorhead, Brainerd, Grand Rapids, Duluth East, St cloud and some metrro area AA teams.

No one on this board follows section 8A and the old section 8 teams of Bemidji and Roseau more than me. This is my 21st year of following northwest MN squirt to high school teams.

Think you're writin' off Moorhead waaaaay too early. Last year folks (including me) were sayin' "Its gonna be a long season for Tater Fans". Guess what - we were right ! They went all the way to the title game and, in the process, knocked off the Hornets, who were ranked #1 most of the season.

Bemidji will be pretty elite this year knowing that they did return almost everyone if not all. Expect to see them putting up some pretty good number is there first year in the AA. best of luck to B-Town this winter!
I also dont think Roseau will put up as good as a record as the previous few years without the one zero.
