It will be interesting this year Cambridge plays almost everyone in the section...that should give them a good look at what they can expect for seeding. Princeton in AA crazy...never thought I would see that. Will East ever have a bad team?!

57 straight winning seasons suggest the answer to that question is "no." :D

But I would rank ER #1 in this section, at least at the beginning. East will be very inexperienced and might take a little while to come together. They'll be there in the end, though.

East - always Depth, only ?? team Chemistry with key losses??
ER - solid goaltending with Frank's in net, 3 solid lines !!
Andover - 2 solid lines, Decowski and Ekman can score.
Grand Rapids - Always seem to hang towards the top. no superstar's

Forest Lake - go only as far as Fick, Herbert & Seess carry them.
St Francis - lack depth, but have the Benick Boy's, solid players.

The rest of the teams will round out the bottom half.
No superstars? I could name a couple, but I guess I won't because I'd rather focus on them winning as a team.

Elk River should be the favorite here. I think by the end of the season, Elk River, Duluth East, Grand Rapids, and Andover will be the top 4 with all of them considered a decent chance for state. Cloquet will give someone a fit in the quarterfinals again. All around I think this section will be very competitive, with 4/5, 3/6, and 2/7 all being close games in the quarterfinals.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge, but did any other player besides Forbort leave East early? I'm aware of the all the seniors from last year that they lost.

Other than a JV player who transferred to Marshall, they'll all be back.

karl(east) said it best. The team may have a bumpy start, but you know Randolph wont let that last long. East will be a definite state contender from 7AA. Absolute

east will be good. paulseth maybe making a transiston to d but i've heard he could stay a forward, that means lutzka and mellin will have to pick it up. look for zac schendel. i think he's gonna have a good year. also, i know of nate repensky, any other sophomores that are varsity potential?
