Sartell beats SC Tech!
I've heard that Sartell was just a so-so team, and that the mighty St. Cloud Tech team would challenge for the section 8AA championship... Well Sartell beat Tech last night, 5-4 I believe, overcoming a 3 goal lead by Tech.

Maybe, just maybe, Sartell's not too bad, and perhaps Tech doesn't have such a super coach as once believed. (by someone on this board...)

I for one felt that Sartell played well against SCC and could be the real deal, especially as the season progresses. Tech? I think that you've seen the best of Tech and it's not all that good. Don't get me wrong, they'll win their share of games, but they are very young.. and the coach may not know how to coach a young team like this, he's never had one.

OK, flame away guys...

Ok jimmylewis, you must be directing the "super" coach at me....I still think Hommerding is a good coach, one loss doesn't take away that. However, by you even saying that YOU are taking away from Sartell's victory. I was at the game too. Sartell showed up. They are a young team but they have composure and drive when they want it. They also have a goalie who will keep them in every game. Tech will struggle with that this year. Tech also continues to make cheap shots which will hurt them in the end.

Congratulations to a fine win by the Sartell club.

SC Tech
Although i did not have the opportunity to watch the SC tech/Sartell game, i did get the chance to watch SC Tech play Willmar at Willmar.
*(6-1 tech) Tech is a very young team, but i believe that the seniors that they have need to carry their team. Whether it be Buttweiler or Lambertt or Lane, I think they should have an above mediocre season. I disagree and dont think Sartell have an ok-ok squad, they cant even get enough players to have a JV team, and they did not impress me when i saw them play, and i dont think they are going to be close to .500 this year. Tech needs to wake up and play their typical style of hockey, and not under estimate any opponent but itll be hard when most of the kids think their s*** dont stank.

Hey Puckhead... don't get so defensive for your buddy Chad, he can handle a little criticism.. The point I'm making is that he's never had to coach a young team before, he's always had a group of seniors that could carry the team, and good goal tending. It'll be interesting to see if he can make them better or not. He's had a lot of talent in the past and some feel that he's not done what he should have with it.. but hey, you like him, be proud.. He's not a bad coach by any means.

So what happened to the seniors last night? Where were Buttweiller and Erickson in the stats? Curious is all...

If Chad can't handle criticism, he better not talk to me. Especially how that cry baby ruined st. cloud youth hockey.

like i said in the 2A forum, this is a high school board, no need to talk about this here. If you have any questions, reach me in person.
2A

Buttweiler spent too much time trying to look like he was drawing penalities. I don't know if he was hurting or what the deal was but he got up slow too many times. Took a stupid penalty at the end plowing into Sartell's goalie, so he sat in the sin bin for his last shift of the game.

Erickson must have been invisible last night, didn't notice him.
