I had a chance to watch SCSU play against Lethbridge and I thought their defense looked really solid. I was most impressed with Sam Zabkowicz who missed the last 10 games or so from last year due to head injury.
Zabs looked like the real deal in the Lethbridge game and had a point in that game plus a point against Miami.
I went to the game yesterday against Union and the SCSU D really struggled. Both Rioux and Zabkowicz were out yesterday and today.
Does anyone know why they are out - are the injured?
Their return to the lineup will be critical for SCSU to stop some of the high-powered offensive teams in the WCHA.

there my abe some sickness on the team. I think that could be some of the reason that Zabkowics is out. He has gotten real good over the summer. He was good last year, but his speed has increased and his vision seems to be better. He'll be great when he can get back it there. Rioux has been neither here nor there. Not alot of development from him. Lots of skill but a decreased work ethic it seems
