Roseville, Centennial and Edina scrimmaged last Saturday. All three teams looked good. I look for all to be strong contenders this year. I saw parts of the two Roseville v Centennial matchups but I don't know the final scores. The scores for the rest of the games, in order, were: (1) Centennial 0, Edina 0; (2) Roseville 2, Edina 1; (3) Edina 1, Centennial 0; and (4) Edina 1, Roseville 0. No blowouts from what I could tell but that's not surprising considering the talent on all three teams.
Despite what someone reported earlier, the Roseville D was very offensive minded and not conservative at all.
Edina used the scrimmages as a tryout so they played 8 D and 10 F. Both of their new goalies looked good. There has been a trend in Edina to pick only older girls and keep as many girls at 14U as possible. In keeping with that trend it looks like only one freshman will make varsity again this year. It appears that there will be 3-5 sophomores once tryouts are done.
Centennial looked much better than they did at the scrimmages last year.
