Cloquet (CEC) and GRG (Rapids/Greenway) skated to a tie 3-3 tonight.. 1-1 after 1 period, 3-1 CEC after 2 periods and 3-3 after GRG ties the game with 6:59 left in the third.
The Lumberjacks killed off a 5 on 3 powerplay in OT, on two tripping penalties 30 seconds apart, then of course the Lightning went shorthanded but the Lumberjack special teams seemed gassed and spent half of their powerplay in their own zone.
Sarah Gustafson came up HUGE for the Jacks the end of the third period and overtime, stopping 2 breakaways and then doing the splits across the crease to stop a great scoring chance on the 5 on 3.
A Molly Illikainen goal was sandwiched by two Dana Gallop goals for the Lightning, while CEC got goals by Jessie Ryan, Savannah Hanson, and Melissa Clark.
