Wayzata (3-0) @ Duluth East (2-0) 12-5-09

Two high powered AA teams. This will be East's first top opponent while Wayzata recently beat Edina 4-2 and plays Centennial tomorrow. Should be a great match up.

Bumping this one back to the top...

With 4-2 wins over Edina and Centennial, Wayzata's proved that they're legit. Both East and Edina beat Maple Grove 2-1.

East will need to have a strong defensive game and score when the opportunities present themselves. This is probably the toughest pre-Schwan Cup game on their schedule.

If Wayzata can keep this one from running time it will be a moral victory for the wimps from the west. Hounds will pound them into submission tonight. :P

Atta boy, Oldtimer!!!!!!! You're starting to make predictions like I do!! =D> \:D/

I can see the headline now.

Boy Hounds Caught Destroying Trojans

I honestly, think, though, since Maple Grove was a struggle for East, this one will be even tougher, although I believe Grove is building a program that will be rivaling Eden Prairie and Wayzata soon...

I think Wayzata 3- East 1.... but I am pulling for the Hounds...

Goldfishdude, I am glad you caught on to my "shot" at Wayzata. It will be a tough one for the Hounds indeed.

Trojans rolling, but the Hounds have always been a tough oppenent for them in recent years. Drive didn't seem to effect DE last year, dont think it will this year for the Trojans.

Wayzata wins 5-2.

if the hounds can capitilize on their chances, they win with that said and i know most won't agree. i'm gonna take east in an upset 3-2

If memory serves, he had his breakout game against Wayzata two years ago. Let's hope for a repeat performance.

If East gets off to a quick start they'll be in good shape and can use their depth to their advantage. If not, it might be a long afternoon.

4-3 Wayzata in OT.

Comments and observations are, as always, appreciated.

Last two periods were dominated by the Hounds. Wayzata got the only breaks unfourtunatley. Wayzata tied it up on a guy breaking out of the penealty box with three minutes left. Final shots were 40-27 in favor of East

From my vantage point directly behind the goal, i can confirm East caught a bad break when they clearly scored, and as the puck passed the line into the net a Wayzata player scooped it out and since their are no goal judges at Heritage, was waved off.
I was surprised with how well we played given the young team, plus 2 of the top 3 defensemen still out.
Go Hounds.

Wayzata

Post by blueblood »

This is an early indication that EP and Tonka will have to contend with not only BSM, but Wayzata as well. Clearly this section is loaded with those 4 teams.

Wayzata will definelty move up in this week's rankings. I would put them in the top 5 after their wins over Edina and East.
