I'll post more later, have a bunch of pictures to look at.. but the Lumberjacks and Northern Stars continued the streak of tie-games, with a 3-3 OT tie tonight. Now Duluth, Cloquet (CEC), and Grand Rapids/Greenway have tied each other. PHM plays our Lumberjacks next Thursday and then Duluth on the 19th.
Interesting 7AA note though.. with Elk River on the 7AA girls side this year.. PHM and Elk River didn't get a game scheduled between the schools, but Elk River does play the other three teams.
CEC 3 Duluth 3

My own take on tonight's game.
The Lumberjacks and Northern Stars renewed their rivalry by settling nothing at all, with a 3-3 overtime tie.
The Jacks came back from a 3-1 deficit in the third period, with goals by Jessie Ryan and Courtney Esse (shorthanded game tying goal.) Nikki Logergren opened the scoring for Duluth in the first period, and Callie Halverson tied the game in the second period buring a 1 timer during a 5 on 3 powerplay. Halverson's goal was answered with goals by Rosie Nelson, and Frankie Bergman to build the 3-1 lead after 2 periods.
Cloquet's Melissa Clark had a shot to win the game at the very end of ovetime, burying the puck as the clock ticked to 0:00 but the goal was waved off by the referee saying time ran out, thus ending the game in the 3-3 tie. It will be interesting to hear from the few people parents who video tape the game to see if they picked up the buzzer, but it's hard to complain about a bang-bang call made by a referee who has no goal judges (during the girls regular season anyway.)

Sounds like it would have been a great game to watch.
As for the 7AA scheduling, correct me if I am mistaken, but ER only plays Duluth, GR and Cloquet out of the entire section. They do not play Forest Lake, Cambridge-Isanti-Mora, PHM, or St. Francis/North Branch.
Maybe the other teams already had set schedules?

Very poorly refereed game and I am not talking about the call at the end of the game.DHMN wrote:My own take on tonight's game.
