Jason Stadstad Classic Dec. 17th-19th

Post by hockeyjunkie2 »

December 17th
1:00 PM | Apple Valley vs. East Grand Forks | Purpur Arena
3:15 PM | Bismarck Century vs. Grand Forks Central | Purpur Arena
6:15 PM | Grand Forks Red River vs. Roseau | Engelstad Arena
8:30 PM | Bismarck High vs. Grafton-Park River | Engelstad Arena

Those are the quarterfinal match-ups, who do you like? Anyone have anything on the ND teams, I'll be interested to watch some of them. I was able to watch Fargo South last year and they impressed me. I would have to say Roseau is the favorite unless a North Dakota team has something I dont know about for talent which could be the case.

GFC is on paper the best team in ND. They have a lot of returning talent back and goaltender back. I think 8 of there top 10 scorers are back. They have only let in one goal all year.

GFRR lost quite a bite from tehre title team was expected to be not that good this year but have surprised a lto of people and are undefeated.

GPR just lost to FS and are quite a bit down this year.

GFC probably has the best chance of getting in the title game since roseau isnt in tehre bracket but my money is on roseau to win.

ANything on apple valley?

Thank you gfhockey! I'm looking forward to watching all the games this weekend.

For Apple Valley they got off to a 3-0 start and have since fallen to 3-3. Have one very good line and also a second line with a good individual surrounded by ok players. Goaltending has been a bit of an issue the last couple games. Starter gave up 8 to Jefferson and the back-up gave up 2 more that game and then got a start against Wayzata last night and gave up 6. I would expect Gretz to play in GR, he is the normal starter. Valley is young and that has shown early this year as they have struggled with the teams that have more senior leadership on the ice. The team has 1 freshman and 10 sophomores playing Varsity this year. Team that is searching for an identity right now and I am hoping they will find their stride sometime in January or February but they could be a year away as well.

Yeah, I found a great website that follows ND h.s. hockey.

Grand Forks Red River downs Roseau 3-2 in shootout after 4-4 DRAW in OT.

Game will count as a TIE/DRAW on their records, but Red River goes into winner's bracket of tournament.

I just got home from the game. Fairly even played game. RR won the 1st and roseau the 2nd. Roseau seemed better in the third with RR playing to win it in OT.

ND hockey or well the east regions top teams can compete wiht some of the best in MN i belive RR proved this tonite against a good roseau squad who ebat moorhead.

Certainly.

Red River has got some good sophomores and that freshman defenseman Lizotte.

Fugleberg is a really good player too. Awesome puck handling skills.

Roseaus goalie looked kinda of off tonite. RR goalie played really well too.

Heard some roseau parents using excuses in teh first period saying that there kids are tired cuz the bus broke down.

Red River plays Roseau tough almost every year, and it doesn't seem to matter how good Roseau is, RR still makes them work for a victory.

Funny how things come around. Wasn't that important game they played, last season, against Edina 16-0. Maybe it just felt that way.
