A rematch of last year's state consolation semi's that Edina took 6-4. Can the Hounds put the Hornets on the consolation side of the bracket this time?

Ehhh, I wouldn't put East out of it.. Edina IMO , has only 3 semi quality wins ( 4-0 over Grand Rapids , And 5-3 over EP , and 6-3 to ER) And they both lost to Wayzata .. East by 1 in OT and 4-2 for Edina .. If East plays good, and starts getting there D working right, and not making dumb mistakes I think they can win this one.. Goaltending for East is what worries me.. We need another Ben Leis.. that said

East - 4
Edina- 3

Edina has beaten two top 5 teams in ep and blaine already this year. And I wouldn't be concerned with the goaltending as they just shut out Blaine. Bottome line is Edina is hot right now and i would take them over pretty much any other team at this point.

Tonka?? really EP fell off and Blaine was 100% dominated by tonka.. I think East has a chance but they have to be 100% on

Hope the refing is better than in the JV game. Talk about being homered. Edina JV won 4-2 and should be embarrassed they won that way. Beyond ridiculous what was called on DE and what wasn't on Edina. Too bad, they are two good teams and it could have been a good game.
Go Hounds tonight!

The Schwan Cup site now says 1-0 Edina, but I have no clue at what point in the game that was updated.

3-0 Final.

All the scoring came in the 3rd; the last goal was EN.

Disappointing, of course, but not unexpected. I didn't think a streaking Edina team was a very good match-up for East, since Edina is one of the few teams that can match East's greatest asset (its depth).

This is East's third loss to Edina in the past three years, all by about the same margin. Each has kept pace with Edina in each of them, but in the end, Edina's stars, whether Everson or Lee or Taft, made something happen in the end.

Bring on Hill-Murray.

Edina was the better team. East has it's usual problem: no goal scorers. Edina had the definite edge and was the better team. East may be a top 20 team, but I don't see them cracking the top ten. Good thing for them that 7AA is weak. They are my pick for the trip to the Excel as Elk River seems to be overrated.

i don't think elk river is to overated, look at who they've played and lost to. edina, eden prairie, holy angels not many teams would fair to well against those teams all top 10 teams. i still think they will represent 7AA.

They were handled 4-0 by Maple Grove today (a team that East beat 2-1).

ER has a lot to prove. 7AA does not have a real frontrunner right now.
