This should be an interesting conference match up. I think Eagan caught Jefferson with there pants down early in the season. Apple vally has been known to play spoiler on numberous ocasions, with the most recent being Woodbury in the section final last season, and lets not forget knocking off the #1 Holy Angels some seasons back. I believe that score was 4 to 1. Apple Valley is not the team here who has something to lose. They will come in prepared to win this particular game. Probably not so much to improve their season record, but more to put a blemish in Eagans pride. Home, or away indifferent, I'll take Apple Valley in this first game 3 to 1 with an empty netter. I too am in the belif that the section title is up for grabs this year, but I give the edge to Cretin and Woodbury out of the SEC. They will both be ready come sections and make the road to the tourny extremely tough for the other opponents. ](./images/smilies/eusa_wall.gif)

Apparently you havent seen Eagan play...not saying they couldnt lose, in fact a season split is a likely scenario with AV but come sections Eagan should be the favorite.eastside hockey wrote:This should be an interesting conference match up. Hey, HHF???
Get a load of this one....
The NFL and College Football have their version of the Wildcat offense..
Minnesota hockey has its own version...
The Eagan Wildcats..
After slamming about 95 shots its last game, (due to budget cuts at the Star-Trib, only 55 were reported), Eagan will lay a whole lotta rubber on BOTH Apple Valley goalies....
Eagan 7-1.

I actually hope you are right. I am just going with what i have seen in the past out of Apple Vally when they needed to step it up. Eagan has payed its dues in the lake and is done being kicked around for a while I think. the outcome of this game is my opinion of what is possible in a game played against an underdog Apple Vally team. there reputation precedes them. I do believe the the end of the season records and the section standings will go to Eagan this year. i just think it will be extremely tough for them to get by both Cretin and Woodbury at the state fair grounds. I too look for a strong competitor to represent the section in the big dance. If they can walk through sections like you think they can, then they deserve to be there. I myself see some upsets being posted in sections and the tile game being Woodbury vs. Cretin this year. If not this year, Eagan will be extremely dangerous next year. If they get there this year it will only make them an even better team with the experience they will have gained.HappyHockeyFan wrote:Apparently you havent seen Eagan play...not saying they couldnt lose, in fact a season split is a likely scenario with AV but come sections Eagan should be the favorite.eastside hockey wrote:This should be an interesting conference match up. Well you could be right come sections, and I am sure it will be a tough roads for whoever comes out of 3AA. But right now Woodbury is bigtime underachieving and Cretin has lost some momentum they had earlier so wel will have to see how those teams fair the rest of the season. It will also be interesting to see how Eagan responds to their first loss of the season, whenever that happens. No matter what happens it is going to be an exciting finish in the Lake and in section 3 AA this year.eastside hockey wrote:I actually hope you are right. I havn't had the opportunity to see Eagan play yet this year. Usually Woodbury plays them during the year, but their non conference action had an extreme change this year. they are extremely inconsistant so far, although their ugly losses have come from all ranked teams with the exception of Park( cottage grove). Unfortunately for Eagan, with the softer non conference schedule, they will more than likely not be given much more love on the rankings than they have been given thus far. there are teams with multiple losses ahead of them on the rankings. Keep winning, and prove them all wrong!!!!!!HappyHockeyFan wrote:Well you could be right come sections, and I am sure it will be a tough roads for whoever comes out of 3AA. Yeah the non conference schedule is weak, they need to step that up next couple of years. Are best chances for credibility will be the two AV games, the two EP games and the one Jefferson game left. If we can get anothe win between the 3 EP/Jefferson games and handle AV we should be fine. I am happy with the currant ranking and would expect that only a win ove EP would improve it unless one of the teams ahead fall off considerably. But rankings only mean so much and mean nothing come playoffs really, except for seeding.eastside hockey wrote:I havn't had the opportunity to see Eagan play yet this year. You are definately right about the rankings. Take White Bear Lake for instance. Over the last 10 years, they have been continuously ranked, many time with 4 or more losses. How many times in that same 10 years have they advanced to the state tourney? woops i shouldnt have said that. Now this thread will probably flodded with Hill Murray/White Bear Arguments. no excuses White Bear, Get it done!!! good luck to your Eagan Boys! I will more than likely be siiting accross from you in the colleseum come sections. May the best team this year win.

Well, HHF, I predicted 7-1, and I am a little upset the Wildcat offense didn't try very hard today.
Good game by the score!!!

Good game by the score!!!JK, it was a very good game but Eagan plays a great team defense that makes it difficult for any team to get many good shots.
