6A down the stretch

Post by defense »

At this point it seems that Alexandria and Sartell have postioned themselves as the top competitors. However this section is seeing a level of parity not seen probably ever. The next group would be Fergus Falls, Willmar, and Detroit Lakes. DL is always kind of a mystery due to their horribly weak conference and the fact that they haven't been supplementing their schedule with any real decent teams, but they beat Willmar, tied (won a shootout) and lost in OT to Fergus Falls. No team at this point has really stood out as the dominant team to beat yet.
Will Sartell pull through with a break into the State Tournement?
Will Alexandria finally win the section?
Is Detroit Lakes finally back to the postion that it can compete and possibly be a surprise team at the classic?
Did Fergus Falls rebuild enough to retake their spot as section champions?
Or will Willmar seemingly come from nowhere and take their turn on the ice in St. Paul?
Willmar, Fergus Falls, Sartell, and Alexandria are all in the Central Lakes Conference so we should get a good view of where they all stand in the coming weeks. Detroit Lakes has some must wins against section opponents Prarie Centre, Wadena, Little Falls, and Morris-Benson. While they have a big one left with Sartell.

What is going on in Alexandria? I thought they were going to be ok this year but they have really gone done hill and it is not their goal tending either.

Sartell hasn't lost a section game, but also lost to Sauk Rapids the other day. They should be the #1 seed in the section, but will probably go 0-2 at state.

No one in this section has really proven much. It's great to see them all out there and great for the section battle to see them competing and beating up on each other, but there are no really good teams in this section.

Actually that first statement counterdicks itself. Sauk Rapids is in the Central Lakes Conference.

You meant "contradicts" and you are right. I changed it, I meant section game.

Nope, I meant "counterdicks". Saying "contradicts" is way too civilized, at least for a guy who has my job.
