Personally I haven't seen a SEC game this year, but I would say Gaffy from FL looks pretty good. Going off of numbers only, he has a better SVP and a lower GAA.

Since my crowning Ness as a shoo-in, he has given up 3 goals on 10 shots versus Stillwater, and 5 versus Park.

Schletty gave up 5 goals versus Mounds Vew, while MV goalie Culver gave up 6 vs WBL, 8 vs FLake and 5 vs CDH as of late.

Both Skoog (in limited play) and Gaffy for FLake have been very consistent, but anything can happen, as evidenced by Roseville's Nick Lehr and his 32-save shutout vs FLake last week. Gaffy may be playing the best right now in conference play.

McDonough from East Ridge has still had some tough games.. Park goalies have given up 6, 5, 6, 8 in their last four games.

Stillwater's Cotter has played well as of late, despite the 4-goal game vs Woodbury, and got a nice first-game from JV goalie Defiel vs Park.

If you're talking "sections" now, that is all different, since the SEC teams make up at least 3 different sections and East Ridge goes to Class A. But, you also HAVE to factor in stats.... If the goalies are keeping their teams in games now, hopefully, they can keep their teams in sections games.

One would think Ness has the experience edge, compared to Schneider from CDH in that section 3AA, but I don't think most of us are at all familiar with all the other teams in the respective sections, and how these goalies will fare against the different conferences. Look at games that WBL has had vs 4A STA, getting whomped, lost to H-M 5-0 once, and Ness got rocked by Tonka, Centennial, Wayzata and Park. There's no consistency by the majority of the goalies outside of the SEC.

Keep in mind, the goalies have to rely on the play in front of them, penalties, etc, as evidenced by the Section 4AA matchup of a WBL 6-5 victory over MV on Saturday, when there were like 5 or 6 PPGs scored. If a goalie doesn't get the support in front of them, situations like 3 goals on 10 shots for Ness are possible, as any of the SEC goalies.

I would think that all of the top 5 team's goalies are capable of performing well, but again, even though playing well, may result in a 2-1 loss.

Forest Lake in their section has beaten Grand Rapids, and St. Francis and has played well enough vs East losing 2-1.

Yet, Forest Lake has beaten and tied Woodbury with solid goaltending, and despite Ness's play, he has tied and lost to FLake. FLake is in a different section..

Soo?? I am not sure if you are going to get a satisfactory answer to your question.
