State Seedings: AA
Didn't see a thread, so started one....mods: move & lock this if I didn't look hard enough.
Thoughts on AA seeds?
Minnetonka: Obviously the 1....should be no debate.
Edina: I think Edina should be looking at either the 2 or 3.
Got to think if Hill & Blaine win their respective finals, that they'll be the other two seeded clubs.
Things get dicey if either or both of these teams lose.....
Thoughts? Predictions?

Rank the top 694/494 teams 1-4 and let everyone else try to play spoiler.
If Blaine and Hill win I don't think there will be any discussion of having any outstate teams seeded. I would rank em:
1)Tonka
2) Hill
3)Edina (who beat blaine twice)
4)Blaine
I guess whoever draws 1AA really gets the #1 seed

You better be careful BBB, if you mention anything about section 1AA being inferior to others curtiscurve will go crazy on you.BBB wrote:Rank the top 694/494 teams 1-4 and let everyone else try to play spoiler.

I think that's a good order....Edina's played the tougher schedule, but 2 losses is 2 losses. I think Edina's schedule comes in to play over Blaine because 4 over 6 isn't as huge along with the head to head.BBB wrote:Rank the top 694/494 teams 1-4 and let everyone else try to play spoiler.

As for 1AA, I don't know if they're THAT much worse than Apple Valley/Woodbury or Roseau. I would say that East/Elk River definitely seems to be the most difficult 1st round matchup.

I see Edina as a 2...starmvp wrote:I can see Edina at #3

Barring upsets of Blaine & Hill...
5-8...
Roseau
Elks/East
Woodbury/AV
North/South
Yes, I have the Section 1 as the 8 seed, which should make Yoursoverated shout w/ glee, in his infinite wisdom and positivity , but it is what it is...
The greatest Tourney in the country, and the best weekend of the year...

I agree with Rose!!! Well thought out and nicely put. Now see how easy that is to make a post that has intelligent thought without attacking 1AA?Roseauverrated wrote:I can see how you could argue Edina as a 2 seed. State tournament
FYI. They do not seed 5-8. It's a random draw how 5-8 matchup against the top 4 seeds. The 1AA winner will not necessarily get Minnetonka.

Very true...Roseauverrated wrote:I can see how you could argue Edina as a 2 seed. However, the difference between the 2 and 3 seeds essentially means nothing aside from being the home team in the semifinal and getting last change.
I may have Roseau too high, as I agree Elks/East winner could slip into a #4 seed if either Blaine or Hill falls this weekend...
Pretty tight between Roseau, Elks and/or East should upsets start occurring in Section finals... IMO...

What was the only team to beat the Minnetonka this year?
1. Tonka
2. Edina
3. Blaine
4. Hill Murray
5. 7AA
6. Roseau
7. 3AA
8. 1AA
Oh wait, we only do 4 so we don't hurt kids' feelings

It will be interesting.....
2 through 4, you can really make an argument for each I think.
The problem I have is I have a hard time putting Blaine above Edina or Hill-Murray above Blaine. But you can justify Hill-Murray over Edina because of the record.
A > B
B > C
But you can argue that A isn't necessarly greater than C.
I could see it going one of two ways:
2) Edina
3) Blaine
4) Hill-Murray
or
2) Hill-Murray
3) Edina
4) Blaine

If this comment is to me... I understand...stpaul wrote:FYI. They do not seed 5-8. It's a random draw how 5-8 matchup against the top 4 seeds. The 1AA winner will not necessarily get Minnetonka.
Just putting 5-8 together for possible upsets of Blaine or Hill, the probable #3 & #4 seeds...
Thus, Roseau, Elks or East could slip into the #3 or #4 seeds pending other Section Final results...

yeah, I know, mistype; 8 doesn't even make sense in that sentence.DasCondor wrote:you mean we only seed 4HShockeywatcher wrote:What was the only team to beat the Minnetonka this year?
