The MGHCA Senior Classic is this weekend at the Super Rink Friday-Sunday. There are 8 Teams one from each section and they will play 4 games each.

As I understand a HS coach from each Section runs the team they sent out invitations in early February and the players respond and confirm they are going to play. Some kids will say yes and some say no. You might see different kids than these rosters not sure. This weekend will be more about good friendships than great hockey - but for many it may be the last time they play against friends they have been playing against since the first started playing.

Sec 4A/AA won the Senior Classic Championship 6-1 over section 5A/AA. I didn't catch the other game scores from Sunday.

Seemed that the girls had great fun similar to what I remember when the girls were younger and playing in the International Cup type tournmanets everyone was loose and having fun. It hits you watching these games how many talented girls there are playing hockey in MN HS hockey.

Section 3A/AA 4 vs. 6A/AA 2. Section 3A/AA claims the Toilet Bowl crown, BUT this was no Toilet Bowl type of play. The game was fast, end-to-end action, good goaltending, and very physical. Both teams need to be commended for coming out on a Sunday morning and playing very good, entertaining hockey. Great job to all and a great weekend to cap-off the 2010 HS season.
