A Quarterfinals: #3 Hermantown vs Virginia/Mt. Iron-Buhl

Post by hshockeyfan53 »

This is going to be a great rematch! I think Hermantown won 4-2 during the regular season.

If Virginia can control Krause along with his linemates, Virginia has a shot at winning this one. Myhre has to be on his game, because Hermantown puts a lot of shots on goal. Virginia's offense but also capitalize on the opportunities that they get. I think the game will be close and if Virginia plays their best they will take it. Virginia has a lot of kids returning that have state experience. I don't expect them to get killed this year.

If Virginia can play like they did in the first 10 minutes of the first period against Hibbing in the section final , they have a good chance, Virginia is fast and have players who can score,Virginia must have their defense play well and shut down the Krause line, most of the Virginia players bring their state experience back to the tourney.
Hermantown needs to just play the way they have all year, and they will be tough to beat, they like to put the puck on net they and will out shoot Virginia, can Virginia beat em ?

even if they are capable of doing that, i know the coach will not let his players do that.

ya all of the northeast minnesota will be watching and cheering for hermantown,

gotta say it was funny watching the virginia players reaction to goals at the hermantown denfield game last night, when denfield would score the would be cheering and high fiving eachother then when hermantown would score they would look as if they were about to be sick and die, it was awesome watching them look on in horror after hermantown took the lead, the looks on their faces were priceless...dont think they have much confidence against hermantown to be honest

Those Virginia players were hoping to get the #4 seed, which might have happened had Denfeld won that game...

Had nothing to do with playing against Hermantown.

Speak for yourself, and perhaps the rest of the Vikings-of-the-North fans from Hibbing. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

This is the perfect draw for Virginia. If they were playing Mahtomedi,Warroad, or Breck they'd lose. They have a great chance at winning this game, but their going to have to control Krause.

Should be a close game, both goalies are not good. Virginia will win if Myrhe kicks the net or Virginia defense fall backwards and slide and knock the net off when Hermantown has the puck. I hope Hermantown drowns the devils 23-0!

We obviously know the state tourney refs are better than the "Hitler Stache" twins. Myhre won't get away with that at the X.

I wasn't comparing Tromp to Marshamallow Myhre. Like I said he'll get a delay of game penalty if he does that in the state tourney. Just trying to help you guys out.
