What do you guys think of Apple Valleys chances this weekend and in the next few years?

AV has a great group of sophomores and one of the best freshman in the state. Their Sophomore goalie is outstanding.

They will be contenders for the crown over the next two years unless Michealson and Fasching go to Ann Arbor.

If those guys leave, AV will still be a top ten team, but only a dark horse to win it all.

Why not? They play in a tough conference and I've read that they have improved all season and are peaking at the right time. Beating Woodbury 4-0 is huge.

Can you picture the state final with Hill Murray vs. Apple Valley? This is the most likely route that could happen if a few of the probable upsets occur. It wouldn't surprise me.

I think it all comes down to how shell shocked the AV players are when they hit the ice at the Excel Thursday. If they can get past that and get into their game before Blaine gets up on them they could pull a first round upset and then look out...realistically I dont think they will pull it off because of Blaine's experience and the Bug...I am going 5 to 3 Blaine with an empty netter. I wish AV lots of luck though I really liked what I saw when they beat Eagan in the Semi's, except I didn't like the part where they won...

Why all the hype on Michaelson? I see he only has 5 goals in Elite League this year and 3 came against Norway in a 12-3 rip...I finally got to see him play this year and quite frankly don't get all the hype? I thought Kloos and Reid were WAY better..

Wow. Fasching with two goals in AV's state title winning soccer game. The dominant player on the field with an impressive combination of size, strength and speed. Wonder if this will be his last soccer game ever? Nice to go out with a State title if he decides to head to the NTDP next fall. Now over to New Hope for the Bauer NIT. A weekend to remember for the young sophomore athlete that could still be playing Bantam A this year.

Hey, be nice.

Just giving credit where credit is due. To be the best soccer player in the State Championship game, as a young sophomore, when it's likely not even his best sport is noteworthy.

The odds are highly unlikely

They have been creaming teams in the Lake Hockey League on SUnday nights although Prior Lake has battled them. Prior Lake looks good as well and they won 15 games last year and return 6 of top 7 scorers.

No, to be honest. They didn't look outstanding all last year until State rolled around and then they snuck their way through. Unless they have a super soph class as good as EP's now seniors, I don't see them contending again.
EP two out of three.

I watched him in the NIT this weekend and he look great. He looked to me like the fastest skater/smoothest puck handler on the team that won the tourney. And Fasching did great too - for a sophmore to come out and to compete in this tier of hockey shows what kind of player he really is. I'll bet Valley has a great HS season and has potential for a state title.

According to Hockey Hub , Pedrie returns to Apple Valley from Russell Stovers.
Attended school in KC and now returns, no transfer?

AJ is a great talent but twelfth in scoring on his team for the weekend and he was the best one out there? Its great that you support your team but he's had far better showings. His skating will take him a long way.

I think this is the loophole :?:

Minnesota Inter-Affiliate Player Transfer Protocol
(Approved June 2010)

Minnesota Hockey will approve an interstate waiver request from one of is residents players provided that the player will be participating in a program classified as Tier1 by USA Hockey Affiliate and Minnesota Hockey does not offer such a program.

I know of a player from Rogers that went to Stover last year and came back this year. He was imposed a 1 year penalty. Not sure why Pedrie is any different?

Just a clarification... My previous post is / was just a guess of a possible loophole. I really have no idea. (But it was updated June 2010...so maybe that is it.) I know that he is NOT the only one coming back from playing Tier 1 this year.

If anyone can add.... :?:

lol.. Like I said, he was the fastest skater/smoothest puck handler. I didn't mention anything about him being the top scorer. He made his presence felt every time he was on the ice and just by seeing him play once I can tell he's legit... and for the record I'm an EP Eagle ... :P

You got me on that one! Not sure he is faster than Camarnisi, but usually the fastest and smoothest shows up on the score sheet a little more. Don't get me wrong, I watched the entire elite season and the NIT and there is no doubting this kids talent....I've seen him play better was my point.
