The following are summaries from the first week of the Platinum Level for the Twin Ports Prep Hockey League. High level Juniors or younger. Parity is the name of the game so far with full rosters the games were extremely competitive as two games were decided by one goal and the other was a tie game. Edge 5, Subway 4
The first game of the year went down to the wire as The
Edge defeated Subway 5-4. Leading the way for the Edge
was Tyler LaBeaux (St. Francis) with two goals. Zach
Foesch (St. Francis) had a goal and an assist for the Edge.
Subway was led by Jordan Buetow (Denfeld) with 1g & 1a
Grandma's 5, Perkins 5
In a wild back and forth game Perkins scored a goal to
tie it up with just over a minute left to tie the game at 5.
Grandma's was led by Steve Spencer's (Hermantowns)
hat-trick. Scoring the game-tying goal for Perkins was
Tyler Pionk (Proctor). He also chipped in an assist.
Mike Andrews (Central) also had a goal and an assist.
Blackwoods 2, Subway 1
In a battle of the netminders it was The Edge's Logan
Koskela (Eveleth) outdueling Subways Mike Anderson
(Marshall) 2-1. Koskela stopped 34 and Anderson 27 in the
game. Jared Thomas (Hermantown) & Nolan Holcombe
(Superior) scored for Blackwoods. Jake Bushey (Marshall)
scored the lone Subway goal.
