Jr. Whitecaps
Fun weekend in Andover. All the teams played very well The U19 Jr. Whitecaps played hosted the event and played great...
Tied the U19 Icecats 1-1
Beat the U17 Icecats 5-1
Beat the U17 Jr. Whitecaps 8-1
Beat the MN High School All-stars 5-1 ( college bound Seniors)
The U19 JWC team should be another good team this year, made up of current High school players.

Re: Jr. Whitecaps
Not that it matters but the score of the U19 Icecats/U19 JWC was 3-3. The Icecats lead by 2 goals much of the way and the JWC came back to tie it up with less than 1 minute to go. It was a very good game. The U19 Icecats and U19 JWC are made up of mostly 2009/2010 juniors and a few sophomores. I think that the U17 JWC and U17 Icecats are mostly 2009/2010 freshman and sophomores.SuperStar wrote:Fun weekend in Andover. Overall it was a good weekend of hockey. I think the younger players were especially benefitted by playing older more experienced players. I was surprised that the U19 JWC and U19 Icecats handily beat the HS Allstars which was made up of mostly D1 bound seniors but in retrospect many of these players haven't skated much since the season ended since they don't have NDP or other events. Many also hadn't played togther before either.

You forgot the JWC/Icecats Jamboree - June 18-20 at Dakota.
By the way, the U19 Icecats are doing the two Jamborees listed above, NAHA and the Chowder Cup in Boston July 30 - August 1.
It could happen Superstar. It would be sweet and say a lot about MN Hockey but of course I would want a different result than you. By the way, I was wondering about the date you have for the JWC/Icecat Jamboree August 27-29. My schedule shows us playing June 18-20 and July 16-18 but no time in August.SuperStar wrote:On the Edge - Your are correct sir..
Good luck in the tourneys and games. It would be nice to see 2 MN teams playing in the championship at NAHA - with of course, yours truly team, coming out on top....

Interesting. Its not listed on our website www.minnesotaicecats.com. I know that at the last scrimmagefest CP said they were thinking of adding another scrimmagefest in August. I wonder if that is the date they came up with?SuperStar wrote:Well - Here is what I was sent....I did get the rink mixed up and did not notice the July 16-18 and the the June 18-20 weekend I have OS Prospects listed, maybe they changed it - I will have to double check

It establishes great development playing with other top players, great exposure to MN Girls Hockey but also is establishing a network for younger top HS players and parents to tap into to understand how schools, coaches, grades, test scores, scholarships or Ivy League Financial Assistance. This is something that I think sets this proram a part from other summer teams/programs.
