MN Miracle and the United AAA group had tryouts at Schwan's on Sept 12th (maybe it was the 11th - I don't remember). It was supposedly tryouts for Miracle Gold, Miracle United, Bauer Supreme and HBTC.
How would that work with 4 teams? Who gets the first pick of kid's?
Has anyone who was there heard anything back yet? I just got an email today offering a spot on Miracle United, but again who picked first, how does that work. What if I'd really prefer my kid to be on Bauer Supreme? Is that considered a "better" team, I don't know...
Any insight would be geat. thanks.

My suggestion is to go to the United AAA website. Click on teams and look at all the teams in your age group..Most of them have contact information. Talk to a few people to get your bearings. Most of the United teams that are holding tryouts are in the middle of the Summer AAA pack... Many of then have all their kids already. Or they are recruiting at this time. Many of them are looking for anyone they can sign up in order to have enough money to put together a team. Call around until you find someone that makes sense to you before you make a decision... Some of the teams skate over 100 hours, some skate 25 to 40 hours... most are run by dads... All that being said be sure to sign up with someone if your kid wants to play summer hockey.. He/she will have a lot of fun next summer.Newbie Dad wrote:MN Miracle and the United AAA group had tryouts at Schwan's on Sept 12th (maybe it was the 11th - I don't remember). My God, no better advice has ever been given. I applaud your objectivity and your insight. That being said, I feel like Jerry Tarkaniun on the sidelines over here just biting my lip. I'm glad there are sensible people out there helping out folks that need a little direction.Quasar wrote:My suggestion is to go to the United AAA website. Just kind of curious with the Miracle being run by Schwans staff a Quasi government organization are they being subsidised by the state of Minnesota; reduced ice cost, coaching and organizational costs reduced. If this is the case it would be an unfair competitive advantage over all the other independant AAA organizations. Can anybody shed some light on this?

By the same token, the VA hospital has an unfair competitive advantage over the private hospitals. Would you send your grandfather there, if you had the means to send him somewhere else?MoreCowBell wrote:Just kind of curious with the Miracle being run by Schwans staff a Quasi government organization are they being subsidised by the state of Minnesota; reduced ice cost, coaching and organizational costs reduced.
