Lake Placid.. Midwest Pride?

Post by wildhair »

I see in Let's Play Hockey this week that there are two groups trying to put together team to go the Can /Am Tournament in Lake Placid.

The MN / Wis and the Midwest Pride.

I made a call to ask and the Midwest Pride is not the same group as the Minnesota Pride which was run by Minnesota Made. We went out a few years back with Minnesota Made. It was a great trip. Any know anything about the AAA Crush that are running the Midwest Pride? I know the MN / Wis has been around for a few years.

I would say go check it out. $10 is not much for the time to check out the players and to ask questions of the coach/manager.

Eastondude, you lose credibility the more you post on here. You have 10 total posts, and somehow you've called out 4 different coaches by name. You're either mentally ill, or you're still fired up about playing 3rd line on the JV team. The only way you'll be taken seriously (at least for a couple of posts) is if you make up a new screen name.

As a Crush dad I was very pleased with the first year of the organization. All 3 teams had some good successes in both open and invite tournaments but the best part of it was the kids (and parents) had fun over the summer. The program wasn't too regimented, many kids played on multiple AAA teams and the Crush organization tried to accomodate. The club tried to go to the same tournaments but each team had their own flexibility. The core of the club is North Central Wisconsin (North and West of Wausau) drawing some kids from the UP and a few from Minnesota. Although we could rarely find a common time to practice as a club, communication throughout the club was good, we always knew how the 00 team and the 98 team was doing. There seemed to be some genuine interest in developing this organization into a FUN place to play over the summer and we look forward to next year already.

If you are looking for a summer program that practices 2x a week. The Crush might not be the best fit. However if you are looking for a fun place to play during the summer with some really talented kids and that fits well with other activities then I would agree with the previous poster and go to the Lake Placid tryout and check it out
