Brick Invitational Tryout Update

Post by terrymoore1717 »

Our Brick team tryouts start this Saturday and Sunday (12.4-5) at the Super Rink. We are excited about the turnout. We have room for just nine more skaters and two more goalies at the tryout.

We have talked a lot about this tournament. It is a tremendous experience for the whole family and it is not to be missed.

Registration closes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, so jump in if you want to play.

Kudos to the 2 01 machine families that decided to call the bluff. It'll be interesting to see if a few more jump in for tomorrows try out now.

That is good. Nobody should tell you what to do with your kid. Not even Bern.

I stopped into see the tryouts. The information give about Machine players was not accurate. There where two former Torspo players that tryout, but no current Machine players are skating.

Try-outs were run perfect. Wow some great players and great kids. Tom Chorskey[sp?] outstanding!!!! Gave all the kids those candy pops after. They did four or five drill multiple times w/puck and w/out. Then scrim. Class bunch!!! No the 01 did not get asked back. No way he should have been.

How many kids showed up? Were there a lot of non blades kids there?

I wonder if other regions have a machine/blades like rivalry that goes on and prevents the best kids from representing the region?

The days of shredding the Blades regarding this tournament are over, the only people preventing the "best" kids from representing the region are Bernie, and the parents of those players for cow-towing to him.

Any, and all players are welcome to try out for this team to represent Minnesota....as the way it should be.

Sounds like after getting calls from machine parents/coaches they choose not to. It's too bad. I'm glad you took time out of your morning to come make sure no machine kids were there. I'm sure Bernie appreciates it!

You are either misunderstanding my question or trying to put an anti MM spin on it.

I ALREADY know about the challenges Minnesota has putting together the best kids, I was wondering - if I have to ask again - whether or not it is known if other regions face the same jackassery putting together a team. If you don't know feel free not to comment.

Maybe I'm misreading you.....I guess I just assumed yours was another attempt to hammer the Blades, if not, then I'm sorry about that.

There is nothing stopping the best players in this region from representing Minnesota, if those players wish to give it a shot. There is an open tryout and the best players are picked to go to Edmonton.

Theres nothing "jackassery" (is that a real word?) about it.

30 or 40 kids I would guess. Talked to parents from St.Cloud, Alex., Hibbing, All nonblades. I'm no Brick expert, but I would think it will be a competitive team of ten year olds!! Good luck to team MN/Blades. We[mn] don't need bernies folk.[Some would be nice to have I'm sure but they must be toooooooo good to represent the great state of hockey]

BM do us all a favor and take "Minnesota" off the orange pull-overs you call a sweater and replace them with the words CCCP. It would be very fitting to the Iron Curtain culture you're running down there. I also heard he's put an electric fence with guard towers and has required all Machine families to live on the compound with only supervised release to attend schools picked and approved by BM only, if the child attended a non-approved school, he would not be allowed back inside with their respective family members.

Brick Try-out

Post by Love AAA Guy »

If the 01 Blades had beat the Machine 10-1 would they have held this tryout? No one on the 01 Machine has said any bad things about the Blades team and it sounds like it will stay way. Maybe the 01 group has more class then past years. Good Luck Minnesota Brick team

We had about 50 kids tryout, including current Blades players and a few who made it Sunday only because of schedule conflicts. Players were from all over the state. Coach Pitlick is very pleased with the way things went. Quite a few strong players were there.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. We will keep you posted as events develop.

Blades hold an open tryout and HD41 still does not post that BM is the one who won't let his players tryout without ramifications. HD41's oldest kid is 6 years old and only 3 years out of diapers. He just loves to feed the "rivalry" due to all the orange beverages he's sipped while he constantly hangs out at MM trying to get in with the Machine folks.

Good for the Blades to hold the tryout and good luck to the kids who make the team and kudos to the parents for realizing what a great opportunity they are providing for their kids.

All the Kids that get cut from the Blades Brick Team why don't you come and play for the Wolfpack?

The Wolfpack will be the top AAA club in the State. Way better than the Machine or the Blades. You just need some skates and a check book. We can get you some of those candy pops like Chorskey's handing out.

What is a candy pop?

Jackassery:
A large quantity of stupid, asinine behavior; typically referring to a group of people exhibiting poor judgment.
On a rainy morning in San Diego, my friend commented to me, "These people don't know how to drive! There sure is a lot of jackassery going on around here."

What have done to earn a spot on this list? I have my opinions about them
Not allowing kids to take part in a great tournament. How does that make me a mm basher? I'm sure there are plenty of things they do a great job of at mm. It just disappoints me that people allow another man to make decisions for their kids. He is wrong in this case and it's a fact. Outside of that I don't know enough about mm and don't really care.
