Hermantown (13-0-1) at Proctor (11-5-1) Tuesday 1/25

Post by Northlandhockey77 »

Hermantown plays Proctor on tuesday in a game that has always seemed to be close in the past few years. Will the Rails be the ones to end Hermantown's chance at an unbeaten season? Pionk and Ecklund are both back for them which improves their chances.
Predictions?

As much as I'd like to see Proctor pull off the upset, I'm going with the Hawks by four.

This is Proctor's best team in a few years and an upset would not be a huge surprise. They have their big dogs back and Htown is a bit dinged up. With a game against a strong Bemidji team on Saturday the dynamic of an undefeated season vs. string is broken for Htown could also come in to play. While not on the level of a Hibbing/Virginia or East/Cloquet game, the records seem to go out the window when these two play and the games can be pretty wild affairs. Thus, specialty teams come in to play and even though the game is in Proctor, I pick the Hawks by 1, 5-4.

I hope Hermantown is looking ahead to Tuesday just like you guys are, because they've got a tough game today (Bemidji improved to 15-1-1 with a 5-3 win over Brainerd last night) and very well may not have to worry about that whole unbeaten thing by the time they play Proctor...

Id like to see an upset here. Section 5A is way too predictable right now.
