Big Games and Predictions – Week 12 (regular season ends)

Since I’ll be out of town for a couple of days this weekend I wanted to get our final regular season games up on the board a little earlier than normal. This will give everybody plenty of time to get their picks posted before the first game starts on Tuesday at 7:00pm.

It’s been fun hosting these weekly contests during the 2010-11 season, and I hope our weekly regulars have enjoyed it as well. We again welcome any and all forum readers to participate. I know that the regulars are eager to pit their superior prognostication skills (and luck) against other fans of the girls’ game - those that until now have been just lurking in these threads!

Yep. Just thought I'd mix it up a little, just for fun! Our best "small school" Class A team against the No. 1 rated team (regardless of size) in all of North Dakota. Why not?

Great games tonight! Two of them decided by a single goal; the other one by just two:

Eastview 2, Lakeville South 4
Anoka 3, Elk River/Zimmerman 2
Stillwater 3, White Bear Lake 2

There were 9 of us (out of 10) that jumped on the White Bear bandwagon...but Stillwater clearly had other ideas. sinbin was not fooled however and even predicted the 3-2 score. sinbin is off to a HOT start for the week as he also got the Eastview-Lakeville South score right AND predicted Anoka's win over ER/Zimmerman. 5 points in 3 games - not bad!

EP is in a slump...But after watching last night loss to NWC (3-1) I have to wonder what the heck is going on..Goaltending is still very solid. But MacKenizie can't do it by herself. EP is playing lately with ZERO passion and hustle - they can get to right "mojo" for the lines...and it really shows the last 4 games

Don't take anything away from NWC, they played with a ton of passion and beat the crap out of us. Congrats to them..!!

Breck 4, Blake 4 (a bit of a surprise - everyone picked Blake - 0 points for all)

Anoka 1, Coon Rapids 3 - this one went true to form - 9 of 10 get a point)

Benilde-St. Margaret's goes undefeated in the conference and wins the North Suburban by beating Irondale 5-1. Shots were 38-18 in favor of BSM.

There were several close calls on score, but nobody gets it. All 10 of us do pick up the single point.

Minnetonka again shows why they're No. 1 in Class AA as they win decisively over No. 2A Blake 5-2, outshooting the Bears 39-16.

woogieboogiewoogie nailed the 5-2 score and everyone else picks up the one point for favoring the Skippers in this one.

Too late to influence the seeding in Section 4AA, but it was:

White Bear Lake 1, Roseville 4

Contestants were pretty evenly split on this one, with four of ten thinking WBL would win...

...me included.

No score in yet for the Centennial vs. Coon Rapids or Eastview vs. Rosemount games, but sinbin appears to have this week's contest in hand. sinbin has 11 points and a 2 point lead over Silent But Deadly, and both have Coon Rapids and Rosemount winning.

Final point totals and "Prognosticator of the Year" awards will be posted tomorrow, followed by the Super Bowl!
