Warroad vs. Roseau rematch

Post by warriors41 »

We missed the rematch again this year. They are playing in Roseau and it's the third period. The third started tied at one and Warroad scored a quick quick goal to take the lead. Roseau responds right away to tie it at two. Warroad than scored a few minutes later on the power play. Not to be out done, Roseau scored five seconds into their power play. They are tied at two and that's where they sit right now. Warroad has got to stay out of the box. It's killing them right now.

Warroad scores with 1:52 left in the third to take a 4-3 lead. Roseau had a questionable penalty called on them with just under 4 minutes left. I'm not sure if their skater got back out on the ice or not. Roseau has also hit the cross bar on their last rush. 1:00 left

And Roseau ties it up again with 40 seconds left on the clock

End of regulation. I've got to say, I've been very impressed all third period by Roseau's ability to keep their head up and not get down when Warroad has scored. They just won't go away. They gave up a goal in the first minute and gave up a goal with just under two left and didn't give up either time.

Warroad scores in overtime and puts it away 5-4. Not really sure how it went. The internet feed cut out for overtime.

Roseau got called for 3 penalties within a minute or so, which led to a quick PPG by Warroad. It was a great game to watch, thanks to MyFoxHockey of course, but it's too bad that the refs had to decide the outcome in the end... especially with how few penalties were called during regulation (that I saw anyway).

Wondering if Hasbargen bought those guys a burger before the game. They called a penalty off a scrum in front of the Warroad net with three minutes left in the game on Roseau Should of been two, one from each side. Then again why are you calling penalties with such little time left in the game. So Roseau survived that one. Get to over time and Richard Petty calls a Penalty that has nothing to do with the play on one from each side. Put your whistle away Richard! Next penalty on Roseau Defense is carrying the puck around the net, Warroad player cuts him off tries to through a check falls and Richard Petty calls a trip on Roseau, HORRIBLE CALL! Then a scrum off a Warroad shot incures infront of the Roseau net as every one is going to the net, Red calls a penalty on Roseau for Cross check. Could of been six penalties called on that play, but still it is overtime put it in your pocket Zebra's . So 5 on 3 Warroad scores. Too bad Roseau out shot them 2-1 and out played them most of the night. But reffing gave this one to the Warriors. Don't argu with me because Hasbargen laughed alll the way off the ice, he knew they got away with one. The ref even apoligized to Broten as they went off the ice!
Bush leauge refs that should of retired a while ago. In my opinion when you can't keep up to the play you shouldn't be reffing!

Didn't the rams get 2 power play goals during regulation? I and two friends made the trek over to watch the big show down, either team looked that empressive. as for overtime the kid mugged the warroad player no:8 took him down right in front of the ref good call by the ref but also good penalty because they they had roso on it heels and were threatening, the second penalty the kid tried too take the warroad players head off with a cross check from behind to the head no:19 for warroad well after the play had to call that one, that came back to bite them in the rear he scored the winning goal and as far as the shots on goal that was a little padded on roso side we were all laughing the said over the PA system warroad only had 2 shots on goal in the 3rd period but had 3 goals how is that  . it was on the internet so everyone watching seen it all  enough said :D

I will stand by my statement of it being the worst officiated game I have ever witnessed. Not one penalty through two periods and then you give a team a 5 on 3 in overtime on plays that have no consequence and no they were not mugging or going after peoples heads. The only period that I felt the shots were wrong was saying Warroad outshot Roseau in the second. It wasn't a pretty game. Especially when officials let everything go for two periods and then go nuts in the 3rd and overtime. It was a joke. Not saying the refs won the game, but they had a hand in it.

Like I said the feed went off line for overtime so I didn't get to see the calls. I really hate it when refs call overtime penalties unless its absolutely blantant. I can't imagine what would have to happen for a 5-3 to occur.

However, a coach laughing as he goes off the ice could just mean he was happy with a win in a big rivalry game. Also, I love to hear the rarely used "visiting town ref advantage." But from what I did see there were bad calls made. I didn't like the Roseau penalty with about 4 minutes left. I thought it was too small of an infraction at that point in a tied game. Refs screw up I guess. Not the first time, won't be the last.

Goals do not count as save as that is what Roseau does on the stat sheets. And I don't care who is playing in what game the ref's should not determine the out come of the game. If the calls would have been on the other side I would still disagree with them. I know Carson as he took book, and I know he would not pad the stats as they do in Warroad. The bottom line is the penalties shouldn't of been called either way. That late in the game when two teams were playing as they were. It was a fun game to watch until Richard and Red thought they needed to be in the game all of a sudden. Not complaining the way they went just the fact that it determined the outcome of a good rivalry game.

not saying the refs won the game i will!!!!! are you kidding me! as for the so called shots in the third that they announced those are saves roso had two saves in the third so if woarroad scored three that means they had five shots but their not telling you shots its saves for all the non hockey simpeltons out their. if you did watch the game and thought those penalties were lagite you really are watching the game from a one sided view which soooo many people do. what i saw was a good old fashion theft of a hockey game done up by three guys roseau should of never called to ref the game in the first place! chalk that one up to the new guy in town running the athletics. warroad played cheaper than hell the whole game reffs let the kids play thats fine than make two marginal calls in overtime and one late in the game it was a joke.

Whats a non-hockey simpleton?
I will say that last call was bad. But I think they still had the option of killing the penalty. Or did the refs put the puck in the net?
what we have learned is that Roso is the best. Warroad cheats.
Why can the fine people of Roso not realize that in the last 20 years they just dont have what it takes to win this game.

Honestly Roseau, last night, had what it took to win that particular game. But what we are saying if you don't already get that. The Reffing took that away from the Rams. I don't care if the calls were against the Rams or the Warriors. I just hate when the refs figure into the outcome of the game weather the Rams Win or the Warriors win. The Refs need to take into consideration in that point of the game what is going on and those two were oblivious to what was going on! And last night those two officating the game blew it!

What I am saying is that each and EVERY time Warroad wins this game the Roso fans cry foul. Warroad never was behind all night hard to say roso should have won. Suck it up and win the next one.

They will have to wait til next year! It always does suck when the refs have such a major say in the outcome of a game, and of course a game of this magnitude gets blown up more so than a "typical" game. In the end the kids play the game though and not the refs so you just have to get over it. Sometimes you get the help sometimes not, but you still have to play the game!
